Factory GTC becomes a one of one ACR

This is interesting...Maybe you guys know this I did not and neither did my dealer...I just ordered my second Viper a 2017 ACR waiting for approval on the one of one scheme...Though I ordered an ACR one of one it's actually considered a GTC to start with. Dealer noticed it had the GTC codes, not actual ACR ordering codes. He called Dodge and they said when you do the one of one order with an ACR it starts as a GTC then becomes and ACR when they add the ACR wing and such. Radio in stock ACR has only three speakers, heat shield different or gone, no carpet, etc and very limited colors and options. So they make it an official ACR make sense? Car will say ACR on sides and have all the cool stuff on it. Anyway just wanted to share this data...

Yeah, I went through the same learning process on that. I was actually afraid at first that it wouldn't be a "real" ACR because it starts as a GTC car. Similar to the TAs you can get now via the GTC program - they're not "real" TAs in the pure sense and that could be an issue for some collector down the road.

But, with the ACR, it seems that you get a hell of a lot more by going the GTC route for not a lot more money. I don't know all the differences, but I believe you get the 12 speaker stereo that's 18 speaker ready (with upgrade kit), you get some extra carpeting, the hood pad, the cool "one of one" badge for the interior, I think the "Viper" metal door sill guards are no-cost standard now on the GTC cars, plus you have a lot more option choices, and the concierge service which honestly I could care less about - but it will be nice to get baby pictures of the car as it's being built.

I priced mine out as both a standard ACR and a GTC ACR, and it was almost the same - so I went with the GTC ACR-E.

Yep, it's different than a GTC adding the TA options, the ACR GTC's are logo'd as ACR, etc., they're truly ACRs with other options, vs a GTC with ACR options. If I was ordering, I can't imagine not going GTC.

I'm pretty sure you could convert any genV to a "real" ACR. Suspension, alignment, tires, sway bars (?), undercarriage and fins, spoilers, speaker removal (lol)

Joke aside, not really, I'm sure you couldn't get Dodge to swap the software calibrations that are unique to the ACR, so you bolt on parts, but it won't be a branded ACR and it won't drive exactly like one with the optimized SW calibrations.

Correct. And it will have carpet in the trunk, insulation and a hood pad under the hood. It will come with the 12 speaker system vs. 3 in ACR non 1 of 1.

So my car is a special edition Snakesksin ACR. On the order sheet it has ZDDL29 GTC coupe, does this mean its coming with the full sound system and GTC creature comforts and its an ACR. I have option codes as follows:
ZDDL29 22k EWG DD1 P99 APA *EX -X9 NAS BRM AZW AYU AML ALG AD& 4CP 3XA 4EA

Uberpube I think your car will have the GTC comforts. James at Concierge told us my car is still an ACR and down the road resale value well he said it really won't matter because they made it an ACR at the factory and no one can question that. I really don't care at this point it just looks so frigging cool!

Back in Dec. 2015 I started a thread on that "other" forum regarding this very question. The VIN numbers for an ACR and an 1/1 ACR are NOT the same. The seventh digit is "D" for the GTC 1/1 ACR while for the ACR it is "C". Interesting that they actually have a VIN designation for the ACR. From what I remember, my Gen IV couldn't be differentiated from a non-ACR from the VIN alone. At least that's what the insurance company was telling me...

Martin...yes you are correct, no specific VIN for an ACR Gen IV. If you read through the thread I linked you will see it mentioned by Viper Jeff. For GEN V however Dodge changed this.

I stand corrected as far as the GEN IV ACR. But as to the Gen V, if you order a One of One GTC/ACR the VIN will have a "D" as the seventh digit while if you order an ACR (not a one of one) it will have a "C".

GTC can be anything.
SRT, GTS and ACR also have their own code.

GTC just means that specific car is a 1 of 1.

You can order a One of One "GTC" with either package-"ACR" or "ACR-E". In both cases as long as it is a "One of One" the VIN will come back with the seventh digit as a "D" since it is considered a GTC with an option package of either ACR or ACR-E.

Rummaging through my paperwork, I have a screen shot of the snakeskin ACR order page. The SE's were an option code in the 1 of 1 program, the SSG was option code AML , so that explains the D in the VIN and they are ACR-e's, as included in it is ACR package, Extreme aero, ACR interiror and CCM brakes.
