Downforce is a lot like money, you can never have enough. I would think it is easier to tune out too much downforce than the other way around. Here is an old video of a plain jane Gen 3 with a wide body kit and an obscene amount of aero. Obviously not going to be super street cruising friendly, but for the track it would be the ticket.

End of Feburary for results hopefully. And yes, the idea is if you're still seeing aero understeer at rear wing position 1, this should help either reduce the understeer or perhaps allow you to add more downforce in the rear.

Splitter support bracket with integrated hinged tow hook. Tow hook option for ACR-E, or stand alone for all Gen V Vipers. Allows ACR-E owners to save weight and/or add a tow hook with little or no weight penalty. Tow hook is not in the radiator airstream to affect cooling. All aluminum and stainless steel construction. Left or right side mounting (or both).

Devils advocate.....That splitter support bracket is only held on with one machine bolt that I doubt is designed to pull/hold the full weight of the car...have you tested that?

Jon, the bolt is tied right to the frame and is structural. As for tow hook mounting, I'm not sure there's a perfect (bolt-on) answer, I've heard of the cross tube mounted hook being pulled hard enough to bend the tube. On pavement you can probably pull the car with your teeth, one can imagine every scenario of increased load up to the point where something will break.

As for my design I've made sure that there will be no bending motion on the bolt due to the backside flange of the support bracket, so the chance of that means of failure is all but eliminated.

Does 1 3/8" bolt have enough tensile strength to support the load of the car with plenty of overhead? Yes. I don't have any information to do FEA on the frame unfortunately.

One step closer to the diffuser brackets; it seems XTREME is working on producing these in carbon so I'll still look into making a more economical aluminum version:

Do these brackets mean for us non ACR owners that we are closer to having a complete kit for the rear diffuser ? Or am I misunderstanding here ?

Yes, that is the goal. I don't plan to go further than these brackets so this would mean sourcing the OEM ACR plastic diffuser with riv-nuts already installed or drilling into your own diffuser and installing riv-nuts (which I would provide as a kit in theory).

Ok so as far as the plastic part goes , I have read some conflicting opinions on if the non acr is the same shape. Is it only the bolt holes that need to be drilled or is there any cutting involved ?

I don't believe there will be anything other than drilling required but I will confirm that before proceeding.

Here's a quick update to this splitter extension in the pics above (Not to be confused with Doug's stock ACR-E extension replacment). Doug shipped this to me to test out, last weekend i was able to on a small track (East Track at Wild Horse Pass) I only hit low 120's on this track, but the splitter had no vibration using all the stock mounting holes and support bracket. I got my fastest lap time of the weekend by 2 hundredths with this on and my wing setting changed from #1 to #2. 2 hundredths doesn't sound like much but keep in mind this was my last session and my tires had a lot more heat cycles on them then my previous sessions. So maybe it could have been faster. I can't wait to try it on a larger track with wing set to #3 position. I can't wait to try out the extended rear difusser strakes as well, I just hope I can get the car into the trailer with them on

Thank you for testing this AZ, the results seem promising. More testing will back that up for sure and glad you can help out.

Yeah, I am facing embarrassingly slow manufacturing issues and working to resolve that.

The aluminum splitter support brackets are done, still waiting on the tow hook attachment. They will be getting anodized soon. Good for ACR guys wanting the ACR-E splitter extension, or ACR-E guys who want to save weight or save their OEM supports from wear and tear.

Support base waiting for strake support end or tow hook (or both).

Pricing is on the website. Material is in, need to get it machined. Hopefully looking at early May for shipping. Same goes for Gen IV items and a few others.

Those wondering about the diffuser for non-ACR cars... Wayne at XTREME has been working on the carbon brackets / mounts. I am still considering an aluminum version depending on a few variables.

Also, the ACR - E splitter hardware kit is in stock.

ACR Splitter Extensions and rub strips are in stock and ready to ship for Gen IV and V. Have had a few guys add the extreme splitter to their base ACRs with good results. If interested in the extended splitter please contact me directly.

    Thanks
    Doug
