    P0456 code

Evap leak detected when pulling out of drive way yesterday afternoon, filled tank then erased code then drove 200 miles and no more light. Considering how these gas caps are will i still need to do a smoke test?

You might want to check the vent line that runs under the fuse box (Power Distribution Center or PDC) in the engine compartment on the driver's side. It is a black plastic line about 1/2 in. It melts. Cars with headers are especially prone to this but it happens on bone stock cars too. If yours is melted splice a rubber gas line to it and run it behind the PDC to protect it from heat. If it melted closed it would be very hard to put gas in car but if melted open you would know it melted unless you check. The PCM doesn't run the EVAP test all the time by the way. Certain conditions have to be met for it to run. EVERYONE with a Gen 5 should check their line.

Run your hand under the fuse box on the driver's side. You will feel a black plastic tube about 1/2 in diameter. It runs from the front of the engine to the firewall. Hard to take a picture of it given it is under fuse box.

I am not a Gen 5 owner - yet. I am thinking that the tube being discussed is shown below the fuse box in 2 photos in the following linked thread, post 6. Perhaps ViperGeorge could describe which thing in the photo is definitely it, for Viperbeers. I do not have first hand experience. https://driveviper.com/forums/thread...l=1#post232670
