$225 for spark plug wires?

Ok, I bought a 05 a couple months ago completely stock with 9k miles and definitely have upgrade fever. I've been learning a lot about these cars and of the "viper tax." I don't mind spending extra for quality parts if its worth it. I did all the fluids, new tires, bc coils and a short throw shifter kit. I was thinking of replacing the plugs and wires. I see plugs are going to be about $100 and wires around $225, is this a fair price? After a gear swap I gotta cool my jets... hmm, header and exhaust (oh my).

I agree, if the engine is stock, use the factory recommended Champion plugs. At $2 each, I can change them every spring.

If you order the Viper Truck wires they are about $150. Also NGK makes a really high quaility direct replacement wire set, OE quality for about $100.

I am about to order plug wires and hope to get mine replaced in the next few weeks.
I realize I have to remove or at least unbolt the intake manifold to get to the coil packs.

Do I need a new intake gaskets or can the existing ones be reused if not damaged?

Be sure to keep your stainless plug sleeves on the motor. It greatly protects the boots from searing exhaust heat.

New ones are very modestly priced - at least Gen 1/2 are.

The intake gaskets are reusable. Be careful not to lose the tiny rubber locating dowels. Part number is 5037217AB is yours are damaged. Readily available at Rockauto for $75

Personally, I'd replace the intake gaskets, about $40 a pair at Rockauto. Mine looked like I could have reused them, but didn't.

I'd also replace the bolts. The six point/torx are difficult to work with, especially the inner/left/rear one. The inners are easier to get to through the intake manifold with an extension. I replaced mined with 12 point head type. Bought some 1/4-20x1 in bulk:

I am not looking forward to the job. I don't mind working on things, but don't care for a struggle removing fasteners, etc.

My intake has standard bolts and not hex or torx.
