Finally got out to the dyno

I lugged some of the fleet up to a show today that a mobile non-load bearing dyno. I've been wanting to do a comparison between them for some time and it seemed like a great chance...get them all on the same machine, at the same time, in the same weather, etc.....

I put together a short little video of the results. I don't have a lot of info on my Viper...just second stuff that I've never really validated...but was told it has Accufab 60mm throttle bodies and Corsa exhaust. Other than that....stock car. So how....did I do for a 20 yr old car?

I guess ok. Maybe a touch low? Don't know how much maintenance you have done on the car. How much mileage? Love the car selection........

Cars and dynos vary. Environmental conditions also vary. I would say it is ok. Also, love the area that you live in.

Couldn't agree more.....one of the reasons I went through the very real hassle of getting all the cars to the show and doing pulls essentially within 10 minutes of each other....that way I kept as much consistent as I could because I was interesting in comparing the three cars HP numbers against each other. Numbers would be higher on a different type of dyno...but at least I have a base line on all three and can start tinkering to make improvements.

Didn't help it was 96 degrees and very high humidity. That hurt the numbers a little.

Interesting that a Cleveland with iron heads and through an auto trans put up nearly identical numbers to a Windows with AFR heads and a manual trans. Not sure why you'd have a 650 carb on a 408 Windsor, that is definitely undersized IMO. The Viper numbers are lower than any I've seen by about 30HP. I'd be suspicious of any mobile dyno.

The carb on the 408w is the same one I had been running on the 351w before it. Yes, might be undersized but the plugs aren't lean (if anything it is still a little fat)...it's a Bigs Carbs setup stage 5....love his stuff on my Fords .

As for Mobile Dynos...yeah they are what they are...but...useful for comparisons at this stage since I did them all together.

Undersized carb won't cause you to lean out, but I wouldn't doubt that thing is measuring a bit of vacuum at full tilt- depending what RPM you're spinning it to. I think there's some untapped potential in your Windsor motor if you're so inclined.

Maybe the dyno is off, but a stock Viper with the Corsa exhaust with OEM cats will generally run about 425HP. I owned two of them, that pulled those numbers on two different dynojet dynos. Those Accufab throttle bodies are likely not helping anything.
