    NEW and saying HI

    Hi Everyone,

I'm new to American muscle track cars and I'm super excited to be a proud owner of a Viper ACR-E. My car is currently in NC and I'll be flying to see it in person next month and hope to ship it back to Taiwan in the coming months.

    - i'm thinking about a set of headers for the car with hi-flow cats, is there any suggestions?

    - here is a clip my dealer made for me when I car arrived

    thanks!

Hey beautiful car and congrats. I second the American racing headers, a titanium catback for weight savings and probably high flows. I have this setup but no cats and it's very very loud. American people not into cars will think it's too loud. American car fans absolutely love it. I'm not sure about Taiwan and how loud sound is perceived. The car is very aggressive looking to begin with. There is an exhaust thread you can search or use YouTube.

You may want to start with the PCM and a catback to hear a louder but still very smooth and quiet ride at low rpm. You can always add headers, cam, etc down the road. The PCM will increase your performance, eliminate the annoying skip shift, increase rpm by 200, add some hp. I believe American racing headers proved to get the best results from the PCM. Other options would be Belanger, Corsa and Agency Power.

    Welcome and enjoy

thanks again, question I notice a lot of people are using the PCM which I see if from Arrow Motorsports , so its not like EU cars which is flashed by an OBD2 ? is it more like a standalone ECU?

Good question. I believe obd2 scanners are just that...scanners. They can even have plug and play with different apps. This is a standalone product you attach to the car that has indeed been flashed. It's a product that was tuned and developed with the viper guru Dick Winkles so it's a solid race controller. It will definitely help a full exhaust setup. As a standalone, I may pass on it as I've read mixed reviews. I have it on my stage ll heads and cam and love the entire package. So I'm a fan of the controller with American racing headers as it was tested to result in very solid gains if not the best.

thanks for the extra input, I'm thinking of going heads and cams and a full exhaust in the future so its good that people has already had good experience with the PCM set up.

    Congrats, beautiful car.

Leave it 100% stock for a little while and learn to harness the existing power fully. Take it to the track and be blown away.

The car does not need more horsepower (unless you want bragging rights). Titanium exhaust and anything upgrades that decrease weight are probably worth it, but some exhaust systems may cause CELs.

Any reason why you did not buy the car from a dealer in Taiwan? I understand the warranty on cars sold in US is only valid while the car is in US.

thanks! I do plan on leave the car stock for a bit! I do about 4-5 competition races in a year and my GT2 has a lot of power as well (750HP crank) so I do enjoy big power cars.

being able to fully use 650HP takes a lot of skill that is for sure.

but with that said its sad that we don't have any Dodge dealers in Taiwan at all so I have to buy the car from the States and ship it back myself. We also have extremely high taxes on big displacement cars too so I know I'll get rapped by the importing tax.

An ACR should land in Taiwan after taxes about 285K

Yeah I figured that was the case. So what brings you to the viper? I would highly suggest doing the heads and cam package then possibly prior to shipping it out to save money. It's such a well worthwhile investment for comps. The ACR is obviously a track killer but we all know the new X car will take the thrown just like last gen when the viper disappeared. The extra hp will offset the downforce on the straights. I think the heads and cam package suits the ACR more so than my model or any other because downforce is king and can handle this power easier.

I find the ACR is the only car that is a true track car right out of the box, and that is the main reason for me wanting to get into one. it has all the right tuff, downforce, 6MT, hydraulic steering, Mech. grip. I will most likely do heads and cams and your suggestion on the PCM. but that will happen after I ship the car. I plan on leaving the car in the States for a bit to see if I need anything fixed by the warranty first.

    Beautiful!

A few of my favorites - was never a Porsche guy owning the CGT has opened my eyes as these shots make the brand even more attractive.

You own some serious widow makers - enjoy!

Suggest looking into Viper Exchange - I am doing both below upon delivery.

thanks! the CGT is what i believe the jewel of Porsches, but i'm now i'm looking into VIPER-ACR's

and I feel only the american car maker will make true track cars in the coming few years, European car makers are going soft

The CGT is my favorite of any car ever owned or driven - no argument it's a special drivers car.

I agree grabbed the SV Aventador with the single clutch vs the F12tdf keep telling myself is was the right decision mostly because it's a roadster and now the ACR - E some of the last cars that challenge the driver vs aids coming to the rescue.

Chances are I won't buy new and start looking back to the past - problem is finding a willing seller.
