How is this funny? There could be several reasons why individuals who are of an advanced age might be a greeter at Walmart. For starters, an unforeseen occurrence may happen and they are suddenly quite strapped for cash and are forced to return to the workplace. Another might be that they simply miss interacting with others. Whatever the reason may be, I don't see a reason we should ridicule someone who is working hard and making a positive impact on their community instead of begging for a handout!
I'm glad that you were blessed to be very intelligent and find a career that allows you to retire so young. Unfortunately, not everyone is as lucky as you are. Be thankful for what you have.
When is retirement at 55???!! To retire at 54 is an outstanding accomplishment. No offense but if you are planning a retirement at 35 it's just a lot of luck, early privilege likely through connections and... Again a lot of luck.
The divorce date is around 50% and second divorce is 65% the number of extraneous variables that destroy income cannot be predicted fully. Children are expensive, adultery is even more so. Add in health problems and other unexpected life events like stocks crashing and you find even the most successful people unable to retire at 35. It has very little to do with not wrapping their head around what you said. It has almost everything to do with how hard life is and expensive it can be. However for you, to retire at 35 is truly awesome so I take nothing away from that. Anyway back to the regular post. I'm in for screens pending good weather.
Retiring at 35????
Hell I am 34 and about 5 months now....I would love to get on that retire at 35 plan. Give me some ideas on how to make that happen.

Jesus a thread about driving your car gets nit picked over retirement age
Why would earning money from a source other than a job, be a hit to one's ego. I'm one of the lowly losers here that will likely work past retirement age (currently 67 for those born in the US when I was born). I have no issue with rapping my head around another legal source of income. Please enlighten me, I'm all years...... I mean ears........... On a more topic related note, I really do wish I could drive my car tomorrow!!

This thread started off fun, I will be back in 15 years to revisit the new topic.

Today wasn't supposed to be Viper day, but someone borrowed my bad weather car, so it's rainy Viper day! Tried to snap a pic when I got in the office at 5:50am, but too dark, will try again at lunch.
I'm driving mine today. My son has his 2yr checkup at the doc, so I figured that's a good of time as any to take the viper out. Following the dr apt, it's a bro date at chick-fil-a.
Got up and it was raining so I decided to pass today, but I think this is a great idea and I hope that we keep this going.
