Average mileage on pilot PS2 tires before replacement?

Was just wondering how many miles people have gotten from their PS2 tires. They are warranty spec'd out for 20,000 miles, but I know that can vary wildly in real life. Just trying to decide if I need to buy a set (before they are truly gone for good) and sit on them for a couple of years...or if I can get another 10,000 miles out of my current set and not sweat this famous tire situation for right now.

I just have a possible set that someone is personally offering. No dealers seem to have them in stock, or at least the 50 I contacted.

I would grab that set! They're very hard to find. If you don't want them I'd be interested in purchasing them.

I'd be more concerned with the date.

I grabbed them. Figured it would be silly to let them pass by. Build date of Sept 2015, which I believe is the final run for them.

Are they ever going to make these tires again? What else can you use instead of them?

I have 12k mikes on them now! They are 1/2 way down, I don't race. Normal wear and tear, There were put on in Jan.2012- Looks good, Too much talk about old tires.
3 old tires guys told me the law says you can put on tires up to 5 years old.

NOW, on another note! Like you all, about getting tires, I to could not find ANY , anywhere, I called Michelin direct ! Last week.
They are making them from time to time, They will NOT discontinue making them as of last week.
I found and have in my possession new 2016 tires for my Rear, at $1100.00- I have the Fronts coming next week, with the same date. 2016. They are out there, trust me I called almost every State, and Wharehouse last Monday with no avail,
The next day, I located lost of tires!

One day I called Tirerack, they have no tires, The next day I talked with Neil, he had 4 sets sitting there- 2015.

I have bought these hastily , and should have waited, Michelin will make these tires for a long time, I was told- SO no worries! Guys, sit tight!

That would be good if they still produce them time to time, but I just don't want to be at the mercy of whatever timeline they decide upon. Plus, I am in the minority in that I want to keep the OEM wheels on my 96 GTS. I like them and I want to keep it stock looking. I did pick these up for $1,100 for both rears....so not a bad deal, and I get some security from the whole situation.

I concur with you, I have a friend who works at Michelin world HQ who said the same thing. They don't make them like they used to but they will continue to make runs of them to meet demand.

I've got a set of wheels and tires I just took off my 98. The tires all have good tread left. They are older tires (I think 2010) but they didn't feel hard to me. Had good traction for the 250 miles I put on them until I got my F14's in. I'd sell the set for $1K if anyone was interested. 3 of the 4 wheels are nice. One has curb rash though.

Here's some pics if anyone is interested. If someone local wanted just the wheels or tires and could help me get them unmounted I'd be willing to separate them and sell separately ($500 for tires or $500 for wheels). Not actively looking to sell but it would be nice to have the space back and the $$$ could be used to go towards an exhaust.

Date code and curb rash :-( Pics were taken before I put them in storage about 1.5 months ago. I can get better pics if needed.

Sorry, just saw your message. I live in Round Rock TX which is just north of Austin. I would be willing to ship as well at buyers expense. Not sure how much that would cost though.

98RedGTS, I was hoping you lived close to Chicago. That's a good deal but the freight would kill me. Good luck, somebody should grab them.
