2017 VIN numbers, build dates and expected deliveres

    Hey guys,

Only my second post here, but was lucky enough to secure a GTS-R order. This will be my first American car purchase which I have been waiting years to do. I've owned Italian and German up until now. I just got my VIN assigned on Friday and it's in the 280s.

What VIN #s are currently being produced in the factory? I take it there's about 60 cars being produced per month more or less so I take it they're currently working on car VINs 40-60 atm????

Anyone's commemorative edition cars completed or delivered yet?

Thanks! Maybe we can keep track on how production is progressing through this thread.

I'm very excited to experience the car, lots of very positive reviews around the web.

I also have a GTS-R on order. I know that these cars do not have vin's as of right now.

2017 special editions will be delivered in......wait for it....2017. Lolz. Also, they historically haven't built numbered cars in numerical order.

Congrats on the order. That car in time will prove to be one of the most epic snakes ever made

Incorrect -- many of the GTSRs have Vin numbers, but that still is not an indicator of when the cars will be built. With the large number of orders until we see some actual movement or FCA notifies Dealers , everyone is just second guessing the time frame to build. Common sense says these ( GTSRs ) may be later than others since they were entered into the system fairly late. Needless to say it appears when looking at the cars in Dealer Connect ,that cars that are sold ( with buyer's names on them) are the ones that are getting Vins first -- let's hope this observation holds some truth.

Just sat down with Bernie and Courtney and they have Von's but no Vin's in Chryslers system. So no they don't have vins yet.

It's correct. The speed of parts coming into the plant is turtle slow, they can only build 3 cars per day and got hundreds of orders in late June in addition to the other hundreds of non special edition orders in the normal course. So I'd be shocked if you see any deliveries of special editions before Christmas. The most epic edition (red white & blue dealer one)can only be sold by Roanoke or Tomball. No soup for u.

Am I the only one to find that really funny. Considering the post before it.

I now see NT ACR finds it humorous

Ordered mine One-of-One ACR as soon as ordering was opened from Mike Reeves @ Capital CJD (National VOA Sponsor), VIN number 59. Color approval mid-June. Custom painting (Plum Crazy Purple w/Viper Silver stripes) done Aug 12th. Started engine/chassis on Aug 17th. No word on delivery. Not a commemorative edition, but might give you an idea on their progress.

It's just sad that statistically 20 engines on the special editions will come with a ticking time bomb. 2 months for VON's....do the math on VIN and build. Hopefully they arent ready in the middle of a blizzard

There are 2017 cars already posted online with VINS on cargurus.com

The dealer is Gerry Wood Auto Group and they have posted the same info on their website,

    http://www.gerrywoodauto.com/searchn...17&Model=Viper

They have vins in the early 00XX's and 01XX's. They also have one in the 50's, interesting to see what they get in stock first

Unless they are bogus and the vins are fake, but the H in the vins does coincide with 2017.

OK, now that we've established I'm not lying we can move forward, lol. The VIN #s are not built in order. I'm surprised. Would have thought there's little variance to account for shortage in parts but resume building in the order they were assigned VINs. I guess members can chime in throughout the year when their car is delivered.

So the H in the VIN means that all the cars will actually be built in the 2017 year? So no one is receiving a special edition car this year?! Didn't think Dodge necessarily wanted to wait until the very end to the build the special editions unlike the previous gens.

EDIT: H means 2017 model year only, doesn't mean it is built in 2017. I was told the factory was supposed to start building MY2017 cars starting ithis month in August.

How many Mcy D's franchises do u own? 4? Suppose as many as it takes to order a GTS-R haha.

I'm looking forward to seeing it with the American flag decals etc on a finished build as they teased it without those little touches on press release

    Congrats on the order!

If I were to guess the first customer sold special editions would be delivered no earlier than November/December of this year. My order was approved just prior to the special editions going through and was told they would be prioritized by customer sold orders over dealer orders. I presume this is part of the reason for VINs not being built in order?

Order approved June 30, VIN100 assigned July 7, custom color paint complete Aug 18, speedform received Aug 22. I don’t expect to see the car until November. My car is closer behind Carolina Viper's than I would have expected given the VINs.

What color Doug? I love seeing new custom colors on these cars!

My ACR E (1 behind yours) was also approved June 30th, and VIN #101 assigned July 7th. But other then a weekly did you know, I have yet to hear if they have started my build :-(
I hope to have/post pictures soon.

My order was placed on July 25th.
Still waiting on the speedform to arrive, I saw a pic of it last week, hoping it shows up today so I can sign off on it. My guess I won't have a VIN for a few more weeks yet. I am told the plant/Prefix are both pretty slammed at the moment and it will take longer than normal. (which I am totally OK with since there will be snow on the ground November-April/May)
