You read it correctly. I am certain the track pack brakes save a little weight. The calipers should weigh a little less because of pads and obviously the rotors will definitely save weight too.

Looks like the track pack Stoptech rotors are 17.95 lbs http://driveviper.com/forums/threads...+rotors+weight
So not as much weight savings as the TA setup. Maybe none at all depending on the stoptech caliper weights.
That being said, after driving my '13 on the track for 1.5 years and driving the ACR just one day, i can tell you the CCB's are vastly superior. They were my favorite part of tracking the ACR.

Thanks Allan and Arizona! Also, thanks for finding that thread. I was trying to find it too.

    Warren,

It appears that the caliper holes are in the exact same place. There is some extra matching on the knuckle however.

If this offset variation is proven to be the case, then we might be able to offer other alternative solution that G5 members can re-use their existing calipers and spindle knuckle.

Nevertheless, for what you have paid for and get you are in great shape.

You'll be stopping on a dime now for sure!

Tractive suspension too...Someone put a lot of $$ into that machine! It's a top of the line ride now!

    Warren,

I already have everything on the car. I know the pictures don't show it well but they are EXACTLY the same height for the end of the studs. Everything lined up, the castings where identical from what I could tell except the 5mm difference in the ear tab length... Lack of better description. I measure from the same points but didn't record it all as I was my own photographer and it was hard to do both.

Nice write up!! and good info on this conversion. One thing that stood out to me, the "Sidewinder II" are super light. Thanks for sharing.

For some weight savings over stock ACR wheels.

    18" Forgelines front 19" rears
Carbon Ceramic and Forgeline or Finnspeed 18/19 seems to be a hot ticket.

Agree, I think I may do the Forgeline but I like them both. I can also have a more streetable title that is lighter as well

Took the car out yesterday and put about 10 miles on it under very normal driving, nothing spirited what so ever. Result so far, no codes at all. I will start to push the car next week just to see if DSC or ABS have issues. I'm not sure when I'll take it to the track again but I will probably make a track day soon just to see if everything plays nicely together.

    This is incredible.

If I end up in another Gen V Viper, I will definitely be saving my money for this! I think CCB's are the only thing the Gen V was missing and should have been an option for the GTS.

Now, find and affordable way of getting the ACR diffuser on there and you will have my dream Viper!

We need to keep bugging Xtreme to make this! If anyone else would buy this, reply! I'm in for one.

  20. #95
I'd buy one if it wasn't crazy expensive. It's not as simple as making mounting brackets however. The ACR is a pretty amazing piece.

  21. #96
Thank you! I couldn't agree more. It's still the one thing every 13 + should have had as an option.

Agreed and I must say that Tim has done a fantastic job in pioneering this conversion project, my hat off to his enthusiasm in helping Viper community.

CCM rotors - Retrofit or complete RB-CCB system can be made available for Viper.

I would say that it would be easiest to get everything from RacingBrake if they have their kit available. If you are particular like me (wanting the OEM Product out of OCD), then it is possible to get a factory system on the car quite easy. Either direction you go you will be very happy and brake dust (virtually) free.

So to answer the pricing breakdown for those that have PM'd me.

All factory parts from Dodge - Brand New

Front Part Number List Web Search
    Left Caliper 68270299AA 824.00 535.00
    Right Caliper 68270298AA 824.00 535.00
    Left Rotor 68252788AA 3,085.00 2,146.00
    Right Rotor 68252788AA 3,085.00 2,146.00
    Pad Kit 68283275AA 849.00 610.00
    Pin Kit 68203105AA 30.00 22.00

    Rear
    Left Caliper 68283289AA 754.00 525.00
    Right Caliper 68283289AA 754.00 525.00
    Left Rotor 68252786AA 3,085.00 2,146.00
    Right Rotor 68252786AA 3,085.00 2,146.00
    Pad Kit 68283290AA 630.00 438.00
    Pin Kit 68283294AA 20.00 15.00
    Left Knuckle 682530698AA 3,150.00 2,192.00
    Right Knuckle 682530688AA 3,150.00 2,192.00

You still need to purchase 19" wheels, or 18" wheels if you do Forgeline or Finspeed.

The emergency brake caliper will bolt up so you won't have to purchase anything additional. All other parts are reused. This isn't a cheap alternative but I expect pricing to come down even further in the future. The biggest expense still is the rear knuckles. These shouldn't be this expensive but I am sure they are priced just to keep people from doing what I did.

So recap, list is $23,325 plus shipping and tax if applicable. Web price that I simply googled is $16,173.

I hope that answers some of the more specific details.
