Porsche started it...Dodge ended it (Chevy's getting on board with it...)

The 996 Porsche GT3 is probably the first mainstream sports car I can remember with a goodly rear wing and the latest GT3RS has the biggest of any modern road-going Porsche 911.

Dodge sure raised the bar with the TA, ACR and especially the ACR-E. Moving forward you're going to need some kind of big wing to hang with these boys and Chevy knows it (well it's an engineering certainly I guess):

Spy shots of the new Camaro ZL1 and Mustang GT500 also show pretty decent rear spoilers. This is getting wild!

I think the F40 started, actually the Superbird, car had a ridiculous ass wing. Fast and furious made that car into a gorgeous car!

Good points. I was thinking more recently as there were some big wings then none for a while...now everywhere!

But the Viper wing looks acceptable. Chevy's wing will make the car look like a shopping cart.

Definitely. I think the old zr1 is going to look so much better. However, with a rumored minimum 700+HP and a big budget, I am guessing they are aiming at quickly dethroning the viper specifically. ironic timing too as that's kinda what happened last production end in 08 with the 09 zr1. Competition is good but it's a little bitter when there isn't a Viper or mopar answer for the foreseeable future. If Chevy doesn't have problems plaguing them performance wise like the z06, this car will be setting records me thinks.

Agreed but like my 80 year old uncle said to me 30 years ago when I was young and dating. "Boy just remember, you can teach a pretty girl to cook but an ugly girl is just ugly." Ha! Ha! That is how I feel about this generation of vette.

Haha which part? The ugly part or the cooking part? New Vette's kinda cover both those categories don't they???? (IMO)

Haha...a friend if mine manages a restaurant and says you can teach a hot girl to be a good waitress but you can not teach a good waitress to be a hot girl. True, but I have met plenty of unteachable ones too.

I think these engineers should all get together and just measure something else, cause that's what's really going on here.
