    Split Second or...???

Have a 98 GTS with Paxton and AEM standalone. Going to remove the AEM and put back the stock ECU so it can pass OBD emission testing. Should I add a Split Second unit like what comes with Paxton originally or are there different (better?) options.

    Thanks, Ron.

If the car will run without it why bother? All you need to do is pass OBD.

Doubtful it would pass with bigger injectors on the stock PCM. It maybe possible to run an SCT as long as you don't boost it. I would think it would work with the stock MAP sensor (with no boost), I would reach out to a few reputable tuners.

Yes the car is running ok on the stock PCM ( i am only driving it lightly to keep it off boost). I have a couple cel codes to fix - high voltage on one O2 sensor and leak on fuel vapor system then i can hopefully get it emissions pass. After that i dont want to put the AEM back in. I really dont like it and there are no good tuners up here. Car starts and runs way smoother with stock PCM but obviously cant use the full potential of the Paxton until i get a piggyback system installed.

    I'd go SCT route myself.

Have been trying to understand what SCT tuning is. Their website does not explain things very well, just that you can control a lot of parameters. It is just a tuning program for the stock PCM? Can it control boost and the extra fuel pumps, etc. Involved with the Paxton setup? Thanks.

I do not believe SCT as a standalone can control boost operated add-ons. I would contact Dan Lesser at Viper Specialty for how to integrate SCT in to your package. He can also provide tune files.
