The author was confused on the generations. Should have been 4, not 2. But think of the awesomeness of owning your own Viper car company

Some people count the shape of the car, so Gen I and II are mashed together, as well as III and IV. They are uninformed.

I remember all of this going down on the VCA website. Lots of speculation and talk of buying the brand. If I recall, the selling price was amazingly low. I'm pretty certain some of those players are key people here on this site.....
