You can't tell by the vin number, just look for the equipment that is unique to an ACR

This might help
I can see it now....More ACR's for sale than were made....You'll have to watch out for the fakes...
Thanks to everyone for the information!
FrankBarba....I can hear it at a BJ Auction now....."a 1999 viper GTS ACR tribute car....."
oil adapter is the hardest part to find and swap to create a clone.
Can't a Chrysler dealer pull up original equipment and options using VIN ?
Man, I wish there was a registry out there that had these answers
I just tried the following instructions that were posted in an older thread and it worked for a 2002 ACR currently on eBay:
The resultant build sheet pdf showed optional equipment including: Competition Group, 5 Point Restraint Driving Belts, Competition Suspension, Delete Fog Lamps, Low Restriction Air Cleaner, 18" Aluminum Silver Wheels, Dash PlaqueReplace the XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX with your vin in the following text, and then copy and paste the url into your browser window:
dodge.com/webselfservice/BuildSheetServlet?vin=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I tried the URL for the build sheet and it worked. Now I know that my 98 RT/10 originally came with a 10 speaker system from the factory!... LOL
Since the new guy might not understand the implications of the above post, I will say it explicitly.
ViperJeff has gone to great lengths to put together a website of information about the build history of Vipers.
It can be found here: http://www.theviperregistry.org/
You will find a VIN decoder there, and sure enough, the VIN does not have a digit that indicates the AACR model, and there is no listing of ACR-specific VINs that I could find.
If concerned about a faked ACR, the only two ways I know of verifying is through the build sheet web site posted above, or having a dealer run a report which I would guess accesses the same data base. Jeff would know for sure.
I have used Jeff's site many times, and certainly appreciate it !!!
Thanks again everyone for the great information! After seeing the car yesterday and talking with the sellers I have no doubt it's real. The sellers are good people.
Let me clarify
theviperregistry belongs to the Viper Club and is not mine. My list is somewhere else. Dodge has a portal that allows VIN lookups and is the best source for build sheets, recall info and you must know the 17 digit VIN, I dont share the address. Dealers have that access, if they say they don't, there pricks.
Each year that access has changed, even read we're it may be limited at some point.
The only ACR specific VIN is 2016, but that does not include 1 of 1 ACR's
