This is a interesting article. Not sure if it's true, but that would be a awesome story right!

It wouldn't surprise me.
IIRC Saleen tried back in 2010ish?
Would be nice to Viper be a stand alone exclusive monster like Koenigsegg etc without worries of the larger brand holding it back.
What is the profit margin for FCA on each viper sale?
I would have thought that Prefix/Arrow would have made an offer.
Be happy that Steve didn't buy it as it would have been bankrupt shortly afterwards. He is hanging on for dear life now with only the upcoming electric supercar "Ryan" as his hail-marry way out. Chinese investors are funding that venture.
Now if it was Saleen Detroit (the ASC / Jeff Shields crew, who are all at Prefix Performance now) than it might have been different. Honestly only a Prefix could do the Viper the true justice going forth. At this point, with a new future model in limbo, might be better for them to just sell the brand in 2018. Really doesn't look good for it to come back. No one left to support the cause any longer in company. Hey it served it's purpose well for 25 years though. No denying that!!
