Well, if that is the case, I will be getting one of the very last Vipers built. I ordered a 2017 1 of 1 on August 1. It also would mean that 2017 ordering will be ending any day now due to no more capacity before the plant shuts down. It won't be long before we find out.
Ya I'm not saying what I've been told is right. I've been told different things by different people. I'm just curious what others are being told..
I don't know anything "official" more than gathering information here and there. Putting the pieces together my advice would be those who want to order their own spec 2017 Viper should do so soon. There are a lot of variables at play here (plant capacity, parts shortages, supplier issues, high demand, unforeseen or unknown issues, last time buys, executive decisions, etc....... I definitely could be wrong but it seems ordering may either end sooner than later or be somehow restricted preventing the exact spec of car desired.
I didn't sign anything /place a deposit dealer stated no need but was told order is in and haven't heard anything for a GTS - R.
Friend ordered a 1 of 1 few weeks prior and has been contacted by concierge.
My guess is they are sorting out orders and identifying customers on special editions.
Weirdest buying experience ever!
Put your orders in NOW. They sourced xx number of parts for the final year and demand suggests 2017 will sell out at least for the ACR according to couple of reputable dealers. Get your orders iN NOW.
But I just want to win a free one like u did
Yeah I've always signed a purchase order and have given a deposit in the past. Verbal order is OK if you have a history of doing bid-niss with the dealer though.
ACR-Extreme, I would be a little worried that they didn't ask for a deposit. Might want to follow up with them. Maybe you have a special relationship with them. Also, if they aren't one of the big dealers I would be worried that are telling you they have an allocation they don't actually have. I've seen a post or two about dealers saying they have cars without actually having an allocation.
I do think the GTS-R is the best looking of the final editions. The others didn't really speak to me. Kind of wish I had tried to get one. Good luck and I hope you get one.
My friend with the 1:28 order also signed and paid nothing but it's his 3rd viper order from the dealer so I guess it depends.
Imo that American themed red white & blue one will probably be the most epic of the special editions and will probably end up being one of the most epic vipers ever made.
We had three people buying together - one could not wait and picked one off a lot.
The other person also has given no deposit nothing signed but was a prior customer received a call as mentioned above from concierge.
It's a larger dealer spoken with the owner sales and mechanic for upgrades - have no reason to doubt them with volumes of e-mail conversations text correspondence it's simply something I have never experienced odd on one hand but everything communicated so far has been spot on.
Agree the GTS - R is a very good combination would like to add all the cf bits which may have to be done at the dealer.
Signature stays

Hey, I'm just curious. Are the limited edition ACRs "base ACRs" (three speaker stero and removed sound deadening) or are they like the GTC ACRs with the full stero and sound deadening?
Pretty sure it's the 3 speaker.
Base ACR's - the GTS - R has the optional cf exterior package was told and I could be wrong there is a 10 speaker option and or the dealer can upgrade.
It seems awfully silly Viper does not allow a customer to add profitable options to the limited editions it's almost a pure profit center - time will tell.
