Haha nah mate, I'm in New Zealand.... even more exotic than the UK!

We might have 20 Vipers in the whole country if we're lucky!

My car. Same wheel and tire package. I bought my wheels from DV8 and the tires through Pirelli. I don't know how getting this all from one vendor vs. from two would change anything... but hey.

I had mine mounted and Road Force balanced. They are awesome.

My wheels came with the center caps in a bag with the other included details/papers.

The car is on Eibach lowering springs on stock caps. This is a shotwith the car just off the lift. It settled down about 1/2" or so after driving it home.

    Looks very nice.

How do you go getting up and down driveways at the front?

Like I always have..... At an angle if it looks too steep. I go around and avoid it if its impossible. It's not that different from when it was stock. Its not that much lower. If I was hitting before I hit now. Keep an eye out for pot holes, huge speed bumps and crazy man hole covers.

Mine with the Forgestar 18x11 19x13. Slightly lowered. Just recently sold the wheels to go with something with a polished large lip. Great wheels for the money imo.

Definitely need to lower it! To me it was the single best mod to improve the look of the viper. The stock ride height looks horrible. Like mentioned you will rub some on the underside of the front fascia on steep driveways, usually it can be avoided by going at an angle very slow. I put 19" HRE's on my 01 and was just as disappointed as you were, once I lowered it I immediately loved the look of the car and wheels. If you can go with a set of coilovers go that way. I have eibachs on my 01 and Intrax springs on my 95. I like the ride of the Intrax better but they seemed to drop the car about 2 inches where the eibachs did a 1 inch drop. Here's a couple of pictures before and after.

Gen I with Intrax springs / stock caps.

One photo with new wheels not lowered.

A couple photos after lowering with Eibachs and stock caps.

Well now...that looks pretty definitive. It would have been nice to see the same angle, location, and lighting conditions before and after but...yeah...lowering looks better. In a strange way this is unfortunate, I already can't go anywhere without scraping constantly.

Are the road that bad where you live? I have had several lowered Vipers and I never really scraped unless I had to go over a speed bump. I avoided places that I would obviously scrape at but, 99.9% of the time it was never a problem on a Gen II or Gen III car. Did you just buy a Viper and aren't used to driving a sports car?

This looks awesome! I agree which was why I purchased a set, for the money they're a fantastic deal.

Thanks Atari_Prime. The before and after pics help a whole lot. I'll get some springs, just am going to drive it as is until the fall. At that time I'll lower it and do the other items I wanted to as well.

I installed JonB lowering caps after I installed Gen v wheels to my II and changed the alignment settings to the 2014 specs. ( not the T/A spec)
I feel the look, stance and offset is just right. IMO IMAG0016.jpgIMAG0023.jpg

Southern California. I wouldn't say dramatic dips in pavement, any bump or incline more than a couple of inches creates problems for me and mine's not lowered.

I've owned several sports cars in my life, all very low to the ground, never had the scraping troubles that I have with my Viper.

Folks I scrape with a 2010 Charger SRT8 that has not been lowered. The Viper is lower than that stock.

I COMPLETELY understand not wanting to scrape... but if you are going to drive your viper. You will scrape at some point. Be careful, that all you can do. If all you want is something to drive for 10 miles a month, then plan your drives very well.

It's only huge speedbumos or dips in the road at really high speed (can scrape the fascia) that worry me. Big ol potholes would worry me at stock ride height so I don't consider that a lowering issue.

There is a scrape protector for the Gen II. I forget who makes it. I've also seen people make their own.

If you do eibachs I bet you will be happy. Simple, cheap, and will look good.

Luisv - any rubbing with your bigger wheels/tires and your Eibachs?

No rubbing anywhere. Not against fenders or going lock to lock in the steering. I went with 18/19 f/r and 295/30 fronts and 355/30 rears. I have the car on Eibachs alone with stock shocks and caps. I also have have the Gen IV brake swap setup and the wheels clear perfectly. No spacers needed. In case you had the big brakes already and/or planning on it in the future.

Just throwing this out there. If anyone would want the front wheels and tires let me know (probably need to be somewhat local for shipping concerns). I still plan on lowering the car a little bit but at this point I am also think I may happier with 19's in the front.

Not set on selling just yet but something I'm considering.

The rear looks a bit too low, almost lowrideresque. Hard to say what's throwing it off, might be the wheel. Haven't seen that one before.
