Headers Users - What DTC Codes Do You See?

Hey guys,

I'm wondering what DTC codes people with headers are seeing. If you're running the Mopar ECU, I don't think you see any because they suppress them, but if you worked with HPT or another new control setup, what codes do/did you see? Trying to track down why my car is running like crap now and not sure if the codes I'm seeing are red herrings or not. Currently I see the following:

P0037 - HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low (B1S2)
P0057 - HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low (B2S2)
P0136 - OBD-II Trouble Code: O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (B1S2)

Any help would be appreciated!

The sensor circuit malfunction (B1S2) is the one that would concern me, and lead me to believe there was a physical problem with the car (like a melted wire for that particular sensor).

I currenty don't see any codes. HOWEVER, if you have not insulated the upstream O2 wires, the PDC (fuse box), the Main wiring harness by the PDC, the EVAP line, and the ABS lines, you could have a host of issues. I would check the O2 wires first. If the O2 wires look ok, unplug the front O2s from the main harness and see if the car will run. You might still get a bad O2 CEL but the car should run if the O2 are disconnected. If the O2 wires are crispy they need to be replaced and insulated. Check ASD fuses. Problems with the main harness can be hard to find. Mine melted 8 wires inside but the outside looked fine. In my case the car was throwing throttle position sensor codes. A melted EVAP line, if melted closed, can make it hard to put gas in the car. Mine melted open. The EVAP line is a plastic line that runs under the PDC towards the firewall. I'd bet dollars to donuts yours is melted even though it might not cause a problem depending on how it melted.

Well, took down the driver's side side sill and much to my amazement, what did I find?

I know this is the downstream O2 and "shouldn't" effect anything with the fuel, but who knows... gonna swap this one out and see if that makes any difference in how the car runs.

Just pull the rear sensors and plug the hole. I used oil pan plugs M18x1.5

Have to pass emissions so need both sets of sensors.

Well, the new O2 sensor cleared the scary code up (still have a pending HO2 fault for Bank 2, but will see if that clears up). Unfortunately car still runs rough, so that wasn't the root cause. Will need to try and get it looked at first thing next week and cross my fingers it's nothing too bad. At least I saved myself a few hundred bucks by changing a faulty O2 sensor though. LOL!

Pulled and checked 11 and 14, which are for the auto shutoff and relay, but didn't pull them all. Would expect a code or something to show if something else was blown, no?

Maybe, maybe not...codes only get thrown for emissions related issues, so if it was affecting something else, then it might not throw anything.

If you melted and shorted the rear O2 wires you have likely blown one or both of the ASD fuses. The O2 sensors are 12 volt sensors and when you short them they blow the fuses. If you did the car will run like crap or barely run. You won't get a code saying such and such a fuse is blown, just check them. You will either need to insulate ALL the O2 wires or remove the rear O2s and plug and then insulate the front O2 wires. The rear O2s are there to validate the functioning of the cats. If you have the Arrow controller you don't need them. If you leave them in, even with the Arrow controller, and they short they will still blow the fuses.

Going to check the rest of the fuses this afternoon... I did check the 2 ASD ones (B11 and B14) and those still looked good... All 4 sensors are logging fine now with the HPT Scanner, so I don't believe it ever completely shorted out, but it likely would have very soon...
