OEM GTS bi mode suspension for sale.

I've got it posted in the classifieds
    http://driveviper.com/classifieds/su...uspension.html

$1,000 + shipping. Andy from VE proved that the SRT models come with pre-wired and a bi mode suspension can be added. the suspenison comes with the computer and remote reservoirs. the only thing you will need to buy is the center consol bi mode controls which go over $700.

You guys are going to force me to open my wallet again.

I just got my car 3 weeks ago and not ready to dip back in my wallet yet but man this is tempting.

Does anyone know the difference over the TA shocks vs. the GTS?

Other than price? If I am going as far as installing GTS bi mode shocks shouldn't consider going all the way up to the TA shocks? Not trying to say you don't have a good deal out there just weighing options.

    Great buy at $1,500.

Make sure when you install the new ones that you disconnect the battery so that when you add the damper control module it see's it.

As far as I know, the TA shocks are the same as the GTS shocks. What is different are the springs, the sway bars and the alignment. Also, the programming on the dampers is different. As opposed to "Street" and a "Race" mode, in the TA, those are mapped to a "Smooth Track" and "Rough Track" settings.

I'm interested. I'm in San Diego as well. How many miles on them? Condition? Can I come check them out?

    Huh?

Don't the shocks have to be slightly different to account for the firmer springs? And my settings still say Street and Race so I'm not sure what you mean by smooth and rough track settings.

Mine had about 1100 miles on them. Not sure on KB's.

Mine are from a '14 GTS. KB may drop below $1500 if no one bites. I would keep mine at lower than that price and reinstall if I sold the car. They are in the way, but not in the way that much.

Yes, the buttons still say "Race" and "Street" but they are programmed differently on the TA from what I know. They are both "Race" modes but one is best suited for "Smooth" tracks (something like COTA) and the other is a "Rough" track setting (for a track like VIR that is bumpier and rougher.

I may or may not be wrong on the shocks being the same though. I think they are the same.

I just received a 1k off offer, but I'm like you, at that price I'll keep them and put them back on if I sell the car and sell the tractive.

what makes you think they are the same?
If thats the case I would consider getting the springs and computer for my GTS.

I'm inclined to think the shocks are different. There's nothing magic about the race/street buttons and there's no programming behind them. All they do is enable or disable the extra canister thing attached to the 2 mode shocks. That's it, there's nothing being monitored when driving. The TA setting are Firm or "soft" and the GTS/GT settings are "firm" or Soft and, IMO, that difference is due to different shock design.

Another reason I think they're different - there was a bad batch of shocks built for the 14 TAs. I've had to have both fronts replaced due to them completely leaking out and others with TAs had the same issue. But I haven't heard of any widespread problems with non TAs leaking shocks.

As an aside, I've had 2 pair of rear shocks on my 15 Grand Cherokee leak. My garage now has more oil stains from leaking shocks than engine oil spills. Freaking Chrysler with their quality control, only time in my automotive life that I've had shocks leak!

Exactly...even with the time to reinstall them. I know mods don't get you much on a car and at best might make a buyer pick yours vs another one without the shocks but pulling and selling the tractive shocks will get you alot more than $1k.

I tend to agree they are different shocks. I have heard of GTS having leaking shocks tho.

You need to get a racedeck in that garage. Not only does it clean up easy it looks bad a$$

I just replaced a driver front shock at work on a 2015 GT for leaking so looks like model doesn't tend to matter if a shock is going to leak or not.

    You could be right.

I was just giving my own inclination based off of what I know.

But in regards to the leaking, the shocks on my 13 GTS leaked and had to be replaced. So I'm not sure that is a good indicator.

That seems like a great price for the shocks and controller. I've installed the Tractives myself, and did a write up in the DIY section, pretty easy job, taking your time. Hardest part is the interior switch panel, as some of the screws are hard to reach, and you have to be careful of the leather.

I haven't had much experience comparing the SRT suspension to the GTS, but for the guy who likes the freeway ride to be more supple, this seems like a no brainer.
