Question Would appreciate your input and any experience regarding my choice between 2 ACR-Es!

I will be making a decision on Monday regarding which one of these ACR-Es to purchase from VE. BTW, Bernie and Andy are a pleasure to work with. There is discussion on another thread about pricing from VE. This is my first purchase from VE and I will be paying MSRP. I consider that a deal. I can get a very nice ACR-E that is on their floor right now at a very nice discount at their sister dealership at Grapevine Dodge which btw I sold cars at for a brief period a couple of years ago as a retirement activity and learning experience. Bernie has graciously thrown in free enclosed transport to the DFW area where I reside. Bottom line I trust these guys and their expertise, knowledge, reputation and professionalism are second to none. Below are the 2 choices I have. If anyone has any experience with their heads/cam and DSC package I would appreciate your feedback. As far as the 2 cars I love the GTS-R Blue/White and interior color scheme. If i get that one I will add the Venom controller and the Belanger "super cool" catback mod from PartsRack. Obviously, if I get the VE modded ACR-E I will be going balls to the wall performance wise. I like the color scheme ok but still prefer the GTS-R car in that regard. Regarding my experience with Vipers, I owned a 1998 GTS Hennessey Venom 650R as the original owner for the past 18 years so I have had a good experience with a modified Viper which by the way I had zero issues with and was bulletproof. I just sold it to a CEO in Ohio. I have also owned many other high performance vehicles including SC'd. I prefer NA power for a track car which my purchase will be primarily intended for.
And yes, these are my choices as I was the one that did buy it now on ebay for the GTS-R car. Bernie is allowing me to consider the VE car before I finalize my purchase. TIA for your input. Yes, I will be joining VOA as a Mamba Member as soon as I have my VIN#.

IMO get the paint color you want, the one I would pick of the two as well, the blue with stripes. Enjoy!

i vote blue with white stripes too.

also i have the H/C package and DSC Tractive. I've had the tractive on my car for 10k miles and can't understand how they keep this product on the shelf, i firgured they'd be selling these faster than they are made since it is such a huge advancement in suspension/ride technology, it is literally analog vs digital.. If you want to drive your viper locally, on road trips and on the track you must buy this, if not you'll have a dedicated track car. The tractive is so intuitive and easy to install, it will completely change the use of your ACR. As for heads and cam, to me a cammed Viper is the Holy Grail of cars so that to is a must.

add on's to that, make sure you get a intake heat sheild and passenger side oil catch can from DSE. Last i would recommend a fuse box heat shield from Calvo.

I would vote for blue as well, although I think the grey combo is underappreciated in pics. I bet in person, in the daylight, it looks insane.

Thanks to all 6 above! KB, considering your input, I now have to consider a third option. Get the GTS-R with the VE and other mods you recommended which I will consider very strongly...want to race? However, my wife will not be a fan of yours.

GTSR Blue with White stripes is stunning, but in the end color is a personal preference.

Your thread made my day and I really appreciate the feedback about your experience so far.

Man this is a really tough call I will be honest I love them both. If it were me I think I would go with the Gunmetal car, the only downside to that is that I won't get to do another H/C build on the blue car

I love choices like these regardless, can't lose either way

Best of luck and we'll talk to you soon!

Really appreciate that Kris. Before I worked here I remember Ben calling me to talk about the suspension and his description was very similar to what you just typed. I don't think I will ever own a Viper without the dampers ever again.

Also I agree the Heads and Cam package that Dick put together is pretty damn good. There might be other setups that will make more power down the road but the overall quallity and package is top notch.

Get the color you want and you can't go wrong with VE. They'll treat you right.

I like the blue with white stripes better. While I like the gunmetal color, it looks like too much going on with the other 2 colors on it for me.

Is one of them already modded with the suspension/heads/cam already?
Never mind, just saw the gun metal on has the mods...tough choice, but a good one to have!

I'm going against the grain...gunmetal for me.

The blue is nice, but has all the headaches of black, but not the evil-ness. My 2 pennies.

Gunmetal, FTW. Since price isn't a consideration, it has the full monty in performance, and IMO, has the ACR striping, I'm not a huge fan of the GTS stripes on an ACR.

I've seen both color schemes in person and they are among my absolute favorites. You cannot go wrong with either.

Get the Gunmetal as the Blue with White Stripes says "SOLD". Unless you just bought it. Ha! Ha!

The waiting sucks, but I would order a GTC and get the color you want, then add the mods.

I like both colors as well, the gun metal pearl is gorgeous in the sun, there is a lot of blue hues in the pearl.

I would love to add the H/C package and active suspension to my Extreme.

I would seriously step back and reassess if you are that unsure of the color you want, it's an awful feeling to spend that much dough and second guess yourself.
I did that with a Gen IV ACR once....didn't like it coming off the truck lol.

I get the whole idea of wanting it now....I'm the worst at waiting on something I've ordered but if I had the money to afford either one of these cars, I'd be doing a 1 of 1 order and getting exactly what I wanted in a color that wasn't like a bunch of other cars out there. That's my $.02.....now I'm broke again!! LOL

Good input from everyone! Thanks very much! I was considering ordering a GTC, however, I'm not getting any younger and I have another birthday on 7/27. Seems from what I gather the GTCs can take anywhere from 6 to 9 months. In addition, I've looked at pretty much all available inventory color combos and have narrowed to these 2. Grapevine Dodge has a brand new Comp Blue w/ black ACR band and driver's stripe that is running a real close 3rd. I'm already suffering bad from Viper withdrawal and my Venom has only been gone a month. The empty garage stall is no fun to look at. Would like it to be filled for my birthday! Will make a decision between the 2 above on Monday and update here. I always wanted the GTS-R Blue/White and Red belts...says America! America needs all the America it can get right now! Also, I've had 3 black cars before and I know the dark color can be a pain. I've never owned a blue car. On the other hand, I do like the gunmetal w/ the ACR band and driver's stripe...says ACR beast! Not to mention the VE performance upgrades. Tuff decision, however as others have said, not a bad one to have to make.

Andy, are you available tomorrow to answer some questions I have on the VE heads/cam and DSC mods?

Bad Bear - tough choice love the blue / white theme. Have zero patience and ordering a GTS - R is not sitting well with me. Mind explaining the buy it now GTS - R - did Bernie put one on e-bay?

That being said I would go for the grey that red drivers stripe is all business active suspension other mods are a must have.

It was my first choice as it matches my Stilo helmet and the more I type it's tempting to end the ACR - E need!
