Yes, this is much better than the yellow Vette that previously sat in this spot. The video was lots of tire frying Mopars.

Yep, saw it a month or so ago. It's so damn impressive in person. How this car doesn't sell like hotcakes baffles me.

Too much competition from within. Hard to sell a 640 HP 2-seater when you offer 707 HP 5-seaters in both 2 and 4-door versions for half the price. Same thing happened to the SRT-4. The SRT-4 Neon sold like hotcakes prior to the return of the Hemi. When the SRT-4 Caliber arrived, a far superior car to the Neon, it was competing against Hemi powered Challengers, Chargers, Magnums, 300's and Jeeps. Dodge couldn't give the SRT-4 Calibers away, and they were great cars.

These damn rental car companies. I asked for a full size and they gave me that! Plus they still charged me for a full size! I'm gonna dispute it on my credit card I'll tell ya that much!

Your right the Hellcats are awesome, but the Vipers weren't selling long before the Hellcats surfaced. The Caliber didn't sell well because it was really ugly. Certainly the ACR is proof that that the Viper should only be sold as a Hardcore car. The ACR's are outselling all the other models, same thing happened with the Gen IV ACR's as well. I love all performance cars, I'm not brand specific. Looking at all the offerings from the exotic players, they all seem to share common features in styling and amenities. When I stare at the ACR, it's form and function to the max. It's styling like the Gen II is timeless and it's performance is unbelievable. Again I have to say......... how this car isn't outselling everything makes me scratch my head.

Part of the problem was until the ACR, people didn't know it existed. They should have advertised it more. Simple as that.

No one who drives one doesn't like it.

I don't believe the problem is that people don't know about the Viper or that it's not advertised. Also. there's no internal competition... the Hellcat twins are totally different cars with different demographics, and they still aren't selling like the Chevys and Fords. The problem that needs a full frontal attack, in my opinion, is as simple as 5 letters. D.O.D.G.E. We are not the ones that need to be convinced. Talking to people every day about cars, I have come to realize the bad ass cars we have at Mopar don't sell because they are a Chrysler product. No matter how good our cars are, all the magazines and reviews suck... all because they are Chrysler. That my friends, is the dragon that needs to be discussed at the round table talks in advertising. America believes Chrysler products are inferior, no matter that we know better. All the car reviews back that same chatter up and those that want to believe the bad reviews are happy and feel justified in their distain for Chrysler. (Sounds a lot like our political system). We can't keep simply putting out cars that are better than Ford, Toyota, Chevy, etc and then HOPE people discover we don't suck.
Most of my family members have Toyota's. They constantly have problems with their cars but Toyota tells them their cars are the greatest quality in the world so they believe it. So do the car review magazines. When I take my Challenger, Ram, or Viper to the dealer for an oil change, the service bays are EMPTY! I never see the long lines of Chrysler products backed up for blocks waiting to get fixed. Why is that not being touted by Chrysler?
Ok, Semi Soap-Box rant over, in a nutshell, we know Chrysler is not the old Chrysler, but until the dollars are redirected to convince America of that, we are going to continue to see our Vipers, etc get discontinued.

That is a very valid point! I think that the genaral public has been so inundated with corvette this and corvette that, that they arent really thinking of looking at any other brand. It doesn't help anything either that the major car mag publishers are all pro 'vette and seem to be anti Viper. I subscribe to a couple different car mags and they are all the same. If chevy changes the windshield wipers on the new 'vette, there is a whole three page write up and road test done on it! New Viper?? Let's not write a bout that cuz we don't think we will like it. Seems the only time they ever have a written article on a Viper is when they need something to compare with other cars. The ACR came out and set how many track records??? You think it got published in any of the bigs? Nope. It seems to me that the whole world of automotive journalism is anti Viper, except for one or two writers. And you wanna know why they can't sell Vipers?!?!?
And that's my rant. Thanks for 'listening'
