I paid MSRP back in 2013 from Viper Exchange for my first Gen V.

Didn't care then, don't care now. Would buy from Bernie and Co. again.

Would I pay MSRP now? Well, depends on a lot.

Well I would like to think so. I managed to negotiate more off of a car then you probably sold your 02 Viper for.

1st Gen V was bought with a whopping $36000.00 off of MSRP

2nd Gen V T/A was also purchased with a $37000 discount of off MSRP but that was with a $15k voucher

3rd Gen V if and when will be purchased for invoice or under

When your ego gets hit you say you bought and sold more cars in two years than the poster has in a lifetime. If true, you have taken depreciation hits bigger than any hold back money from so many transactions. You sound ridiculous.

Finally, everyone needs to chill on all the price talk. If you buy the car for a long time a few grand doesn't matter in the scheme of things. Secondly, if you walk into a dealership and even pay msrp but don't have to wait 4 months I'd say that's worth it right there. Finally, if you are so concerned about deals that those thoughts ruminate through your head all day go buy a lower tier car. For many on here we bought gen V brand new with crazy depreciation so whining about a few grand sounds so ridiculous. Life's too short to get wrapped up in the details. The car is a steal as is. The base SAT has 98% of the ACR performance out of the box and 98% of upgrade options to improve aero. Every single model of this car is a steal. The interior, exterior and performance are on par with 300k+ exotics but at a fraction of the cost since it says dodge and not some Italian horse.
1st of all Iam not the one that was talking about corn flakes. Corn flake.

Another thing is if you DONT BUY YOUR CARS FOR MSRP you can and will sell them with equity or break even if you buy the right cars at the right time. Matter of fact when I do buy my 3RD Gen V I will gladly sell it to you for a great price after I have my fun with it for a year maybe while i put some money back in my pocket.

I have a Porsche GT4 that i didnt pay sticker for and will sell it to you for a $120,000 or best offer. See how that works if you were to pay my asking price I will put $25,000 in my pocket. The above statement may not make sense to you if you are not familiar with the Porsche market.[/QUOTE]

Right that 6k saved on msrp for invoice really lets you drive for free or make money on a viper after a year keep window shopping and I'll keep enjoying mine. I'll bow out of this Alley like post. Enjoy your popcorn everyone.

Boba Fett, this is a real entertaining and funny thread you rolled out. Got to give it up to you as it brought some characters out. Ha! Ha! Hopefully you and John figured something out in the end.

Say just two observations, been tracking new and used GEN V's (non ACR) on EBAY and Autotrader for about 6 months now, man are the available car numbers dwindling. They are getting gobbled up pretty quickly these days. At this rate, when the GEN V is done, the GEN V demand just might outweigh the cars available for sale and then guess what, those sales prices start to go up. Might not be the case immediately for the ACRs as there are quite a few out there now but it is clear, get GEN Vs while you can.

Secondly, is it just me or are the GEN V owners, a high percent of them at least, just cheap in that they can't even pony up $100 for a club membership. Guess I don't get it.

I resemble that comment - tried / denied no VIN no membership.

Coloviper your observations are spot on. I like to follow things on www.autotrader.ca up here in Canada, and I have noticed a significant drop in the amount of Gen V Vipers up for sale over the last 6 months. I would venture to say the number has dropped by about 50% so there are roughly 9-10 cars for sale in the whole country at any one time.

Your car is on order so you are forgiven. Ha! Ha! Man I wish I was in a position to have a new Viper on order at the moment. We have been on financial lockdown as we get a brand new fresh and clean daughter in or around August 20th. Closing in fast the way things have been progressing.

I bought both of my Gen 5's from Viper Exchange. I didn't pay MSRP for either of them. Maybe some people just suck at negotiation, or are just demanding/entitled a-holes on the phone. Bernie is certainly the type to tell someone to go pound sand, if they are a clown.

..... Good suggestion.... best of both worlds: make it whatever color you want and protect the existing paint for the long term.
unless you want to change up the interior..?

Going to jump in just to say that I have sold two vipers from Viper Exchange and purchased two vipers from Viper Exchange. A great deal is what you think a great deal is. My experience with Viper Exchange (Bernie directly) has been nothing but awesome. I know if you order a car and take delivery when it shows up you get a better deal. You negotiate on the front end. Negotiating on an inventory car is a little harder. Not saying this is right or wrong, just telling you this is the case. All Three Majors are awesome and no one should knock any dealer that has helped the Viper Brand. Let's all just get along Viper Lives Matter!!

Boba Fett.....I just have car envy. I am sitting here looking at my 2008 ACR and thinking is a new ACR worth it ( I not going to track it ). Love to have one in my garage but if I keep this ACR......have to go for a GTC. I am confused enough that I am visiting Mark and Billy P shortly to have a therapy session.

I was going to leave this thread alone, but after spending over an hour yesterday with Courtney talking One-of-One stuff I ended up coming back.

It is hard to put into words the horrors I endured yesterday while spending over an hour talking One-of-One processes and evaluating colors to get samples of. All that time with the snarling and sniping from Courtney, to be occasionally supplemented by insults as Andy or Morgan wandered through. Hearing comments like; How indecisive can one man be? Are your tastes really that tacky? You're dumb, ugly, lazy or stupid... And you wouldn't believe how they want to rape me on price for an ACR.... Mercifully Bernie wasn't there (having just left on vacation), as I am sure if they were both present they would have rolled me in the parking lot and stolen my wallet.

Now that I got that out of my system and have satisfied my urge for humor and sarcasm, I can report that in reality I had a great time seeing them all and picking out paint colors. It is true though that the color choices are so extensive as to put one into a state of analysis paralysis and indecision. Long story short, colors are picked and samples in the system to be sent, pricing that I find fair and attractive agreed to (actually was agreed to before I ever went in based on visiting at NVE2), and we all parted still friends. A very pleasant experience.

    All this stuff in this thread has reminded me of a joke that has always been one of my favorites;
Q: What is the difference between Porsches and porqupines???
