D'ann just like she did in 2010. That's my guess
I would tend to agree with you but would be nice to see someone else get a shot at a part of history.

The last one produced will more than likely stay with Dodge, so who will get the next to last one built.
D'ann is still my vote. She has the largest viper collection in the world and funded this very forum
The one with the most money gets the show
Shouldn't the last Viper be sold in a public forum such as Barrett Jackson? The only way it would be successful is if Dodge guarantees this is the final Gen 5 that is ever going to be built.
Should it be an optioned out ACR or a bare bones super hardcore ACR-E edition?? My vote for color would be white with blue stripes.
How about one of the members here can win it at NVE3??
No disrespect to anyone else who is deserving of it, but I hope it's Ralph Gilles and that he drives the sh*t out of it rather than it going into a museum or collection. However flawed the launch of the Gen V was it never would have come back at all without his dedication.
Just sayin.
Hi, can you please elaborate more on:
1. the flawed launch of gen5
2. how Ralph was instrumental on making it happen
if you are up for it, no pressure, thanks!
Maybe the last car should be a Viper Red bare bones car with grey leather seats, special one-off Gen I inspired 3 spokes, and the Prefix targa top treatment.
In regards to the "flawed launch", it has been discussed countless times on this forum. Put simply, some don't think dodge did a good job with marketing the car, which I agree with. Until the ACR, the viper wasn't on most peoples' radars and that is a problem. Definitely do not want this to turn into an argument though.
Slow launch, pricing issues (resulting in the coupon issue), PR disaster in press car with mismatched tires etc...that was under Ralph' watch...
However, Ralph directed the redesign of the Gen V in secret after being told in no uncertain terms that the Viper was dead. When he presented the Gen V to management, if they didn't green light the project he would have been in some hot water over 'wasting company resources' and executive time, even though all the time spent on it by the designers was their personal time.
Guys have gotten transferred/demoted/fired for much smaller transgressions, but Sergio loved the presented Gen V scale model (7/8th?) and the business case was green lit. Ralph was the only one in senior management who believed in making a Gen V, brought the case to management and got it approved. No one else in the inner circle was championing a Viper (who could get it approved or wanted to stick their neck out for it).
Dick Winkles is a great candidate as well, but I like Ralph's track hound mindset so I know it will get used well.
Slow launch, marketing disaster. Two of the most understated terms I have ever heard. Throw in SRT brand and you've got it. Funny how they can't build enough Hellcats but can't sell Vipers. There is a marketing lesson in there somewhere.
thanks for the patience guys as i'm new here. wow this forum is nicer than another one out there. great info. Ralph seems like he has positive attributes of Iaccoca. thanks.
In the same boat and being one of those guys who had minimal interest in a Viper until the ACR - E.
The old school tech beating out the hyper models is amazing and still shocked every track rat isn't dying to get their hands on one.
Rennlist forum is where I learned about the ACR - E and now the TV shows it's showing up everywhere on tracks all over the US.
There will be at least four ACR - E's in my area which is going to be a blast.
So is it REALLY the last one.? I mean seriously, how many "Final Editions" can a company have.? It's been like a KISS farewell concert tour at Dodge since 2010.
And please. The "last" Gen IV that came off the line was an eyesore. Try not to butcher the paint job on the "last" Gen V too. Whoever posted the idea about the "last" Gen V being in the spirit of the 1st Red Gen I is on to something. Good idea, that would be a badass car I would want.
Should have came out with the convertible first. Then the coupe. They had a good thing going and it goT fubared.

I think the last one should be red with throwback oroginal "style" wheels on it. And it should either be auctioned at barret Jackson OR be raffled to a random buyer. I don't think it should automatically just go to the person who has bought a bunch of em recently. No disrespect meant. There are people in here who have had Vipers since they came out and brand new owners who have wanted one since they were 12. I feel each is as deserving. current owners should be able to put their hat in the ring and if it gets drawn they can purchase it. One of the things I like about this community is the feeling of equality and that we are welcoming to new and old members alike.
It would never happen but would be very memorable and maybe valuable, Put the last car together like it was built with leftover parts in different colors including the interior and non matching wheels and have all the employees sign the car then clear it.
