    Red seatbelt question

So I was at my local stealership getting service done on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. While I was there I asked a parts guy what it would cost to buy and install red seat belts in my viper. I was quoted 250$ per seatbelt and install was approximately 500$. He stated that they would have to take the seats out to install the belts. Does 1000$ sound right? I told him I'd shop around.

I'd like to know more about this too, though I'd probably install myself. The red belts are the only non-paint option that wasn't checked on my ACR, and I wish it had them. I assumed they were way more than $250 each after the fact.

The seat belt price sounds decent enough but $500 to change them out sounds like they are cushioning their slush fund.

You can find red seat belts in the aftermarket.

For the install check with a local shop that specializes in car interiors. Their labor rate and skills may both be better than your dealer.

Find someone to trade and do it for free. My car unfortunately came with the red belts, I'd love to get rid of them.

If I was local and knew I could do the swap with no issues, I'd be your first offer.

I looked up the labor time to replace the seat belts.

According to ProDemand that I use at work it says it pays .8 hours per side to replace the seat belts if that helps when getting quotes for installation.

You have to R and R the seats. Remove the center console rear storage, remove the b pillar trim, then remove the nuts on the bulkhead trim and remove that piece. Then you have access to the seat belts.

The most time consuming part of the job IMO would be doing what needs done to the door sills to protect them from damage and scratches.

Thanks for the data good to know...I had ordered my 2016 GTC with red seat belts but someone else had the same "one of one" idea so mine are black...Wish they were red but that's ok!

That's funny because the dealership stated it would take about 4 hours of labor. But he did tell me the exact installation process u did. Hmmm

Let me know if they're any good. The only competent dealer for warranty work and recalls near us is herb chambers. But it's the Danvers dealer which is 160 mile round trip. Ridiculous
