How much refrigerant does the AC system hold?

So I had the AC system 'fixed' 2 yrs ago....in Nov....when I had it in for other work.
It worked fine when I left....flash forward 8 months later to June when I went out on a hot day and had no AC.

I don't usually drive in crappy weather so its been on the back burner.

I just put 3/4 of a can into the system and blows nice and cold again and the little gauges says I am full.

So my question is....how much does the system usually hold?
If I put almost a whole can in was it just a little low....or bone dry?

Hoping I can stay cool for the next couple of days as I am going to the beach with the family.....and because I couldn't get off from work only staying the weekend....so we get to take two cars ....which means of course I get to drive something fun to the beach for a change. I just don't want to have swamp ass the whole time.

My GUESS is about a pound. Just had similar experience yesterday with our 96 R/T 10...used most of a 12 oz. can
...went from hot A/C to COLD. I did notice the low pressure Schrader valve bubbling post fill, so I tightened it with the correct size notched tool and the leak stopped. Will watch it closely, may need to change valve.

UPDATE: 1998 Service Manual says system holds 1.88 lbs. (850 grams or 30 oz.) of R-134a.

I only put about 10oz in.....maybe this means the service center really did fix it 2 yrs ago...and it had enough to blow cold when it was 50 degrees outside so they stopped filling. Who knows.....I'll just keep an eye on it and see if/when it stops blowing and how I need to add again...that should give me an indication of severity of leak

On mine there's a sticker telling the amount of refrigerant in the system (on the wheel well next to the schrader valves).

Well....AC worked all weekend....was an absolute pleasure cruising this thing to the Jersey beach and back.
On the way home it was only in the low 70s...and the darn thing was blowing frost inside....I might have had it on full blast Just because
