Seriously, a nightmare comes to mind... feel for you. I know insurance needs estimates, but I'd be in panic mode right now trying to figure out how to hide the damage before the holiday weekend and so on. Are there deep impressions or dings in the parts you mentioned?

What a bummer. I feel for you. The good news is that the paint is nice and fresh (no fading - easier to match) and the exact same parts that you need for repair are still being built, so with a Prefix repair, your car will be as good as new and you'll never see the damage. Good luck and get it back on the street soon.

Honestly, I'm not terribly worried/panic'd/pissed. Annoyed, yes. Insurance will take care of it. Prefix will repaint the bumper, and the carbon trim and diffuser will be replaced. Mechanically the car is fine. Trunk still opens/closes perfectly and the gaps/offsets are still good everywhere.

But I'm allowed to come here to bitch about bad luck :~)>

And it's still going to the track on tuesday.

You've got a lot of driving to do this weekend to get some break-in miles on it before Tuesday. Have fun.

Just got off the phone with the person's insurance company. They've already accepted responsibility and are now just waiting on me to provide the estimate. And they will pay some diminished value claim, but depends on the estimate.

Man that sucks! By the way, if you need the name of a shop that does high end paint work, I had my 2013 Stryker Red repaired by them. Beautiful work, you cannot tell it was repaired. New nose piece, hood and nose piece painted to ensure a perfect blend with the other body panels. Perfect paint match to the tri-step Stryker color, which is no small feat. PM me if you'd like the info.

I tried to have my insurance ship body panels to Prefix, unsuccessfully, They insisted on a local repair. Geico sucks. But in the end, the car looks perfect.

Could be worse, my 2013 - my father in law backed into it while it was parked in my garage for winter

I was fairly compensated for DV when my GTR was hit, it took a lot of work on my side though. Whenever the car is repaired, try to get a buy bid from a dealer. That will tell you the loss. The number will probably make you sick.

Damage report from the dealer - rear carbon fiber cover, bumper cover, diffuser, and diffuser components. Total, $17K including paint and labor.

My condolences. I'm already getting nervous myself. I live in south Florida, the geezer capital of the world (I can say that cause I'm one of them even though I DO NOT drive like them). I've got a 2017 ordered and it will probably arrive just in time for snowbird season. Anyway, I sure hope the repair goes as planned and the best of luck to you.

Anybody ever go for diminished value compensation successfully?
I did. Took 3 months and I had to hire a company that specializes in DV appraisals and a lawyer to represent me. I ended up paying around $8K for $30K of DV, so it was worth it.
