Determining car's original color

Tried searching everywhere for this, tried vin decoders etc - nothing.

Is there any way to determine the original color from the factory? I'm looking at buying a 1999 Viper GTS but the car is currently vinyl wrapped. The dealership says the car is silver underneath, but they don't know the color of the stripes, or even if there are stripes.

I tried based on the VIN, that didn't work. Is there a paint code in the door jamb?

Yes - it's located in the driver side door jamb. The paint code location is highlighted below in yellow (in this case, it's "PS2"):

so just wanted give you guys an update - and thanks very much for the help

I managed to get in touch with the person who wrapped the car and the paint underneath is silver with an embossed black tribal pattern with gold flakes and some type of scallop or flame paint job on the hood. He said he had to do a bunch of sanding in order for the vinyl to sit properly flat. Said it was the ugliest car hes ever seen.
