    What are safe temps and pressures at the track?

    Working out the details of my first track day in my Gen V w/ track pack. What are the safe temps and pressures? When should I back off? Anything I should expect after a 25 minute session?

    I can't believe nobody has responded to this yet. What tires are you running? How old are they?

    And by "safe temps" do you mean coolant temps or tire temps?

    Yea surprised no one responded, I am looking for safe Coolant and oil temps. Also oil pressure at WOT. I run The P-Zero corsa. They are original to the car 2013. Its a 2013 GTS with track pack

    I did some digging and found that the light goes on at 240 coolant, and that you shouldn't go past 250.

    I dont know but would like to know oil temps and oil pressures for a GEN V

    What weight oil are you using? If you are tracking you should be using 15w-50.

    Yeh, my knowledge is of a GenII and IV only.
    230 is when I start thinking of pitting out, at least it was in the older Viper.
    ACR I have no problems but if it's a 25 min. session I bring it down a bit for a lap then go back on it.

    Are you new to the track in general? Or just with the Viper? (I see you have an S2000 as well). If you are brand new to the track, your old Corsa's will be fine to learn on, but if you feel you will be pushing the car at all, don't go to the track with 3+ year old tires.
    Depending on the temps outside you should start anywhere from 26psi to 32psi. What track are you going to?
    And I wouldn't go over 240* coolant temp, but you won't get anywhere near that unless you are pushing the car hard.
    Search this forum and the Gen 5 forum for wrapping the appropriate wiring harnesses etc as well. They are prone to melting. I'm sure you'll be fine at first, but if you decide to do more track days get this done.

    Right now everything is stock on the car, I dont plan on pushing it to hard on the first event. I have about 40 days on track already in other cars. I just want to have some numbers in my head that I should avoid. I am doing a viper racing school in the fall, next year I plan on tracking the viper a lot just need to get my feet wet first.

    Get the proper wiring harnesses wrapped and check your oil level after every session

    ^I have seen wire harness being mentioned in other posts, Any threads that give exact details?
    I would want to wrap everything with a Velcro style wrap like this

    The Velcro style will not work. The adhesive will give up in the heat. You need to have all harnesses around the headers and fuse box wrapped amply. I've melted down a number of wires and harness across three Gen V's. I now have all wrapped thick with heat shielding also in place.
