    Back in another Viper

Had an 01' Gts several years ago. I always wanted a B/W one but settled for a red one and was never quite happy. Well I've been on the search for a while again for a B/W. The ones I've found either wanted way too much for the color, or had issues. So once again I'm back into a Viper but its still not B/W.

While it wasn't the color combo I wanted, its nice that its 1 of 22. Previous owners have added some very tasteful mods which will save me in the long run. They were also nice enough to keep all the factory parts as well.

Now I just need my house to sell so I can build a new one with a bigger garage.

It's tough dealing with those third world problems.

    Great car!
Silver with blue is one of my favourite colours of all time. First time i saw one was on the old VHS tapes "owners manual."

Congratulations. Great looking Viper. When I was looking I wanted a 96/97 B&W and ended up with a Sapphire 01 GTS. Love the car. Best of luck with yours and your bigger garage.

Which one's faster? The Saleen or the Viper?

On paper the Viper takes it:

A quandary. It looks like you are in Ohio yet I see and Holden GTS. Since those are not legal to import I surmise you converted a G8. I dare say that is just as fast as the Saleen. And I don't think there's any contest that the Viper is much faster than the Saleen or the Holden. Though I do imagine that the Holden might be the most fun.

Thank you! Did you used to own a red 01' Gts years ago?

The Viper will whoop on the Stang. Now my old Whippled Cobra would do much better.

Very nice eye! The Holden would crush the Saleen and I would take it in a 1/4 mile over the Viper. It has H/C, full exhaust, and stall.

Great looking car! I also wanted a B/W but bought, just like you, a silver/blue.

One question though. I'm not sure mine is silver with blue stripes from the factory. Is there anyway I can check if that's the configuration it came with from the factory?

Amusing seeing people talk about a Holden like it's an exciting, exotic car... Dime a dozen family sedan here.. I highly doubt they would get anywhere near a 20-year old Viper in terms of performance... Even a brand new one...

GM in the states is so out of touch with the audience we have to look elsewhere for GM cars that are nice. And strangely, the interior quality is also light years beyond anything you would see in an a Chevrolet or Buick. Now if they would just set up the stereo for left hand drive, everything would be perfect.

Talk to Bill Pemberton, maybe he can pull the build sheet. It's all right there in the VIN, just got to find someone, typically a dealer, who knows how and is willing to pull the codes.

Apples to oranges comparing the two, I don't think Holden was trying to compete with a two seater while designing their sedan. But a 20 year Viper has 450hp compared to my Holden with 525hp with no forced induction.
