My last car - Gen 5 ACR fully loaded extreme?

    Hello!

I am new to the forum, and haven't done a lot of reading here quiet yet. This is intentional, as forum's usually come with complaints or problems and I don't want to get discouraged.

Anyhow, I am terminally ill and need to secure a loan ($150-$160k). Woodside had me covered until I found out that I had 4 collections (since March '16) for medical on my credit report (unbeknownst to me). I am in the process of having them disputed and removed, but everyone know's how that can go! Thus far, Experian has already removed the 4 accounts and I am now waiting for Equifax and TransUnion. I am hoping they get it done quickly.

Alternatively, I have been trying to find someone to give me a private Angel Investment at a tad higher rate, just a difficult thing to do when throwing information out on the net without actually knowing anyone. If anyone on here wants to hear my offer, PM me. For $160k, I will give you 8% year over year on a 120 month term. I will even throw in a prepayment penalty (small). Monthly funding is guaranteed and this truly is a an extremely low risk loan/investment (guaranteed by written in with my life insurance policy as paid first). Anyhow - seriously interested people reach out to me (nine - one - three) 209-five-five-five-eight. Else, I am dealing with this stupid credit dispute; I have the monthly income!

With my last few years to go here, I have a real interest on the Gen 5 Extreme Viper GTS ACR fully loaded, with every option. Honestly, the car will be a Sunday driver. Yet, that's what makes me happy these days (or I believe will) and want to get it going as soon as possible as time is a commodity that I don't have much left to deal with. I really like the extreme looks of the ACR 2.0 package. I want one in White and a possible gunmetal gray stripe or bronze wheel matched color.

I wanted some feedback from other owners on these cars - specifically the following:

    - Motor issue - true or false? I had a 2007 Z06 and my motor ticked. It scared me too much at the time so I sold it and didn't look back. In hindsight, I am sure it was a forum fear - rather than reality. Yet, the car also had a few other quirks (wasn't as fast as it should have been when comparing to others, cluster issues, etc.).

    - Wanted to buy a new extreme one and have the dealer put headers, CAI, on it and then maybe get Unleashed Tuning via HP Tuners. What RWHP will something like this yield, allowing for e85 or 93 octane fuel?

    - I didn't want to modify the car too much, as I wanted to just honestly get in and drive without issue. No more 1200+ HP cars for me (I have had a few - last one was a Nissan GTR). Am I missing anything besides the basics above?

    - The cars listed on ViperExchange - do they negotiating at all? Are any dealers negotiating at all on these? I am new to the viper experience.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Motor issues were on about 5% of cars from 2013-2015. The issues were resolved in 2016 so if you are going ACR you should be fine. The motor issues on earlier models were possible oil contamination and consumption. Dodge issued a recall for those affected and 95% of people are problem free.

No motor issues on latest model year. You can get a good deal from Viper exchange, negotiate. The car has a ton of power and breaks the tires stock, mods may not be necessary but up to you. ACR is not very comfortable. I drove it house hunting for 2h of and on, couldn't wait to get out of it. It's a track focused car, for a Sunday cruiser I'd go GTS with 1 of 1 option all day long. My $. 02, good luck

I have an ACR 1 of 1, uses the GTC as a base and have to say it's as comfortable as my TA 2.0 was.

Nothing is guaranteed but improvements leading up to 17 should take care of the known problems with engines, etc.

I'm sure VX would be happy to negotiate a car, especially one already on the lot.

Instead of a CAI you might consider a heat shield with he OEM intake, talk to Andy if you do end up buying from VX. You might also consider a catch can to keep oil out of the intake manifold. I offer these as well if interested.

Best of luck and enjoy whatever you decide on, can't really go wrong with any Viper.
