I have heard but have no first hand experience that powder coating has some kind of negative effect on calipers. It would have to be seals from the heat, which is what Fatboy I believe is referring to. The calipers look great, powder coating is definitely going to be worlds better than paint, I was just curious what if anything needs to be done to them afterwards.

Baer powder coats all of their calipers before selling them. Powder coating bakes them at 390 for about 10 minutes. The seals should be installed after that.

The only thing, I think calipers get hotter than that in racing situations. Track guys must see high temps but do their seal go? Not sure. Even if the seals were baked for 10 minutes, a track car will run high temps for hours.

Calipers have to be completely disassembled, seals included, before powder coating. Other than that, no ill effects. A good powder job will hold up better than paint...it is a very durable finish. The key is in the prep work, so you have to find someone that knows what they are doing, and is willing to put time into the prep.

Thanks, it's not the metal components I was referring to, it was the rubber portions. I was just curious as I had read it multiple times, but I had no idea myself. I know, I shouldn't be regurgitating stuff I read on the Internet, but that's why I typed it Jeapordy style, in the form of a question.

I just painted mine. Used silver leaf logo. Not tracking, so heat should not be a problem.
I am going to paint the emergency caliper in place.Viper green caliper.jpg

They remove and replace all the seals after painting them with a new kit, included as part of the price.

Thanks guys for all the comments. Drove 4 1/2 hours today, each way, to pick up wheels and tires. Wheels are CCW SP550's and are 20/20 combo, just had them powder coated all gloss black. They sure look sweet...getting ready to add a red pinstripe to the lip edge. I'll post some pics soon.

I painted mine with Brush on Brake calliper paint, but have to say they looked great at first but trying to clean brake dust off them is not easy, the paint is still not really hard enough and if you use any kind of chemical cleaner the paint is starting to rub off

I used the G2 kit and nothing but happy with it. I have done several track days with no discoloration or issues and clean up nicely even for the GTS blue. I also used regular 6 year vinyl decals which still look great after about a year of use.

Looks great. Fresh calipers always make a car have a little more appeal.
