    96 GTS Dash restoration?

Just looking at options. Got scratches in it that is driving me nuts. Can that thin soft layer be sanded off and just sprayed? Or, who does hydrodipping in the midwest?

midwest? RPM Rollbars does hydro dipping in Oregon.

JonB www.partsrack.com had about 20 new dashboards last time I was at his place. Probably cheap?

I just replaced mine with a new one, it was fairly inexpensive.

I have my old one on the wall of my garage now.

I figured this would be a rare item. Guessed wrong. Thanks for the input!

The dash has a coating, similar to plasti-dip. Mine was all scratched up and looked terrible as well. While running warm water over it, I managed to peel the coating off, piece by piece. It is a tedious job, but now the dash panel is the raw plastic (I think polycarbonate and ABS mix). I plan on hydrodipping it, or painting it at some point.

Would look great leather wrapped, french stitched. Like the Gen5.

There are good upholstery shops everywhere. This weekend go to a local car show. Look at the high end customs/Street rods. ask the owners who did their upholstery work. Odds are good you'll get the same answer from several of them. There is your shop.

I believe Venzano does. I think a leather covered dash would look awesome, but not sure what could be done about the passenger airbag.
