This video covers how to replace the power cord on the PC-7424XP with a longer one. If you are one who has VERY LITTLE patience, you may want to allow someone who is more electronically inclined to do it for you. Also, if you are one who doesn't believe in taking pictures of stuff as you take it apart, YOU are going to be in for a LONG night.

I have had a Flex-3401VRG since 2008. I also have the Makita-9227C and the Bosch-1259DEVS.






Now here's the FLAW in thinking the way you do. Once your paint has been fixed, you should NEVER have to get aggressive with it again. Doing a full paint correction using a compound and a polish should be a once in a lifetime event for your paint job. If you are constantly having to shave that much clear coat off of your car, not only are you doing something wrong, you're going to eventually experience clear coat failure prematurely. I NEVER use a compound on a car after I have fully corrected it and I never have to use an aggressive polisher. Once I have beat the swirls and paint damage out of the paint, I ALWAYS come back when necessary with the softest touch as possible. That would be a light polish and the PC-7424XP. I explain this in one of my videos by comparing it to war. In combat, you soften up the opposition with artillery. Then you send in the troops to remove any remaining resistance. A rotary or Flex is like artillery. When I send in the troops and they discover a few hold outs in a straw hut somewhere, I'm not going to call in the big guns to level an entire neighborhood just for one straw house because eventually, I'm going to have to assist in rebuilding that city's infrastructure. So why do unnecessary damage which in turn is actually making more work for myself? I won't because I understand that a lighter touch when that is all that is needed is the SMART way to go.

So you can knock yourself out by cutting more clear coat off your car than necessary but I will use a solid buffing technique with a lighter tool and keep as much clear coat on my car as possible. After all, clear coat is neither infinite nor does it grow back so I am not trying to end up at the paint booth anytime soon. That's even though I do all my own painting.
