Rear Suspension Creaking - Groaning. !!

    Hey all

I am getting a bit of creaking or groaning at low speed over bumps and curbs in the rear. The car as about 1200 miles on it now and I am not sure if I did not notice it prior to this or if it is something new. Seems to be at its worst when I have a passenger.

I have also notice a little tire rub as well when I have a passenger.

Any feed back would be great.

If it's affected by the passenger, you can try to adjust the seat to make sure the seat back does not touch the wall behind.

Not a clunk, right? These cars can be a bit clunky at parking lot or "in traffic" speeds. A groan is something we haven't seen too many post about.

Funny that this thread popped up. My '08 Vert clunked, popped and creaked all the time and was so happy that my '14 was SILENT. Seems now that I have 2000 miles on my '14, its making alot of clunks and pop's low speed, flexing etc. Loosening up I guess?

Check the rear passenger side brake duct inlet, it could be contacting the roof and when car flexes even a little it can make this noise, the other area can be the seam between the roof and rear quarter panel close to the door opening. One way to find it would be to jack that rear side up a little while feeling in these areas.

Thanks Mark. Good suggestions. I suspect you are on the right track as it only occurs when the body flexes over contours in parking lots.

    Thanks

I had this for a while. The car would make that noise when I backed out of my driveway and transitioned onto the street as well as over some bumps where the suspension was "uneven" between the two sides. There is about a 3" drop of concrete curbing for water management. The car stopped making the sound a few months ago and it hasn't come back. I just chalked it up to "break in" and it worked out for me.

Have you figured out what it is yet Looki? Mine just started doing the same thing yesterday. I have 7,000 km on it.
