Just lower the car onto jack stands. The ramps drop down and the car, supported by the stands, stays up. When I first got my lift, I bought 4 super tall stands... Easy to support the car while swapping wheels at a comfortable height. Mine are 14 years old now and that brand is long gone, but there are plenty of other brands currently available. If you do go the tall stand route, get really good ones with stable, wide bases. Otherwise, you can use small stands for tire work, and pretty well everything else is east to do while the car is parked on the ramps. It's super easy. Bonus... If, like me, you had a double garage you now have a triple. I bought a taller door so I didn't have to worry as much about it hitting the car when it was on the lift. Plus, I always back on so, when open, the garage door sits above the hood. Ten feet of clearance is plenty for a Viper and regular car, but my wife's SUV does not fit under the ramps.
