    ACR at Sonoma Raceway

I ran the ACR at Sonoma Raceway a week ago. I set a new record in the Speed SF challenge in the fastest class at a 1:40.49. I managed not to destroy the tires but I still can't see getting more than 1 track day out of the fronts.

Nice work and congrats! Thanks for posting the photos/video. Do you prefer Sonoma to MRLS?

Darius, I wanted to post this last week but was waiting for you to do it!

Bad ass driving, way to represent the Viper! Hope you get the tire situation sorted.

    Very cool Thanks for sharing.

I always like the helmet cam best for some reason, too. However, I've been paranoid about helmet mounts since Schumacher's unfortunate accident. I stopped using it for mountain biking and skiing and will likely not do it in the car. I had the Z06 last summer with the PDR, so I didn't need it then, so trying to figure out what to do in the ACR. Am I the only one being a sissy?

Great driving, but I couldn't help notice how far you were stretching your arms to reach the wheel. Is that your personal preference or just how the Viper fits you or just an odd camera angle?

Please PM me the HRE (or whatever they are) specs.

Congratulations. Looks like a great high speed track; excellent driving. I'm currently getting about 9-10 sessions out of a set of front Kumhos, depending on the tracks driven They are quite grippy tires but the inside edges wear very quickly. I've corded 2 sets already.

Man that car looks amazing that low!

Excellent video of your ACR laps. What kind of wheels are on your car where it says BrianZuk near the bottom?

Ya that's just my preference. I don't like being close to the wheel.

Great Lap! Tire and chassis set-up specs please. Best, Allan

    Awesome and congrats!

Thank you for posting pics and videos. Your ACR looks remarkably good in that color scheme.

BTW, where did you get your clear wrap? I'm nearby in Berkeley and my Black Viper needs it bad!

Very cool dude, I'm loving all these ACR track videos being posted!

And your street wheel/tire set up with the white letters is mind-blowing!

My car is setup exactly to the ACR spec list that's been posted. Corner weighted to my weight. I think Dodge had these tires made to set lap-qualifying records. They seem to be the best at the 2nd to 3rd lap. Anything beyond that they fall off and if you continue to go 100% you will destroy the tire. A Michelin, Pirelli or Hoosier you could run a whole race on. There's no way you could run a race on these tires, they overheat and fall apart and blister at a continued race pace.

Darius, I can't believe how quick that is. Remarkable. Do me a favor and take your time beating my Thunderhill lap time, will you? Haha

Speaking of which, I just signed up for June 4-5 Thunderhill 5-mile with HOD. Join me if you can, and that goes for the rest of you guys too. It's filling up quickly, the beginner group is already sold out.

Nice runs D....I think you should call SCCA and go for the official production car track record and add another one to the Dodge video list. Considering the only things running near that territory are full blown race cars or Cup cars...its pretty amazing.

When I talked to Chris Winkler last week about SRT setting more track records at Thunderhill, Sonoma, etc.....he said that they want ACR owners to start setting the records. All you ACR owners have been called out by SRT so it is time to represent!!
