Sold my Slingshot for a Viper.

Hey gents, long story short (and missing one wheel), I bought those 'new fangled' three-wheeled reverse trikes from Polaris last year and had a blast, but my hair did not. You never know just how hot traffic is until you're sitting in dead stopped 95 traffic just outside Washington DC watching the temp gauge crawl almost as fast as the sweat beads down your back... sitting in a pool of your own sweat is never a good look on anyone

So the bf and I decided to go splitsies on a Gen 4 Coupe should someone make the mistake of purchasing the Slingshot from me (kidding - those vehicles are an utter blast... truly recommend having a midlife crisis in one). Sold the Sling a month ago to a gentleman in Indiana and picked up Mr. Scharf's Gen 4 from Wisconsin last week and drove it back to DC. While I don't think my back will ever fully recovery, the car is awesome.

I found the forum trying to find out how to manually unlock the driver's side door with a spare key - turns out, it requires the strength of Hercules.

also, I wanted to use this smiley. Thanks for the forum!

    - Heather

Welcome, Those Slingshots are so futuristic and look like a blast, But the excitement of a Viper should trump that.

    Lots of great info here.

Welcome!!! I have never gone for a ride in one of those slingshots, but I have sat in them and I'm pretty sure any Viper is more comfortable than they are. But they sure do look like fun!!

They are quite the spectacle - but my god, the heads aches from helmets and wind buffeting... I think I can still hear it. I'm very happy to not be a peg leg vehicle anymore! The difference in people's reactions between the two is quite funny.

Right?! I think when Polaris isn't building three wheelers it's working on medieval torture devices... note that the driver's seat is much more comfy than the passenger's seat for some reason! And thanks for the welcome!

Congrats on the new car. You will have a blast with it this summer. You won't believe the attention you get either.

While turning the key to unlock the driver's door, push in on the door near the latch at the same time.

This reduces pressure on the mechanism and the key turns easier.
