Just curious how this turned out? Thinking of calling to make reservations this week.

Carolinas VOA Members,

As many know, the best part of the Tail of the Dragon...after the ride of course is the socializing. As some have voiced on the VOA forum, they would prefer rooms closer to the hotel's office than to have rooms in the garage complex. I am in the process of seeing if those that have rooms in the parking garage can be switch to the 1st or 2nd floor nearest the office/pool area. I called this morning and was told to call back Monday and talk with the coordinator to see what can be done.

If you would rather have a room up front instead of in the rear of the complex please email to let me know. Last year some of us still parked in the garage even though we had rooms in the other section...so parking in the garage may or may not be an issue if you decide to have a room where the after-hours socializing takes place.

Please let me know of your room preference as soon as you can as I'm not sure what time Monday the hotel will be returning my call.

When you make your reservation and DO Not want a room in the parking garage section, ask to have a room near the pool/office area.

How far are you from Scott AFB (Belleview, IL), I was stationed there in the early 90's.

Awesome turnout 103 individuals attending...there is going to be a lot of Rolling Thunder in the hills and not the bad kind. I will do a complete update of names/locations in the next few days in case those outside the Carolinas Region want to caravan or join an existing caravan to the Tail of the Dragon.
