    Cool New Viper racing team

We are very excited to announce our efforts this season, campaigning our new race car, based on 2009 Dodge Viper ACR, in a number of West Coast Club Endurance race events, culminating in the entry in 2016 25 Hours of Thunderhill in December.

We have partnered with RacingBrake to take our team to the next level of competition. Based out of Fullerton, California, RacingBrake has been providing quality brake components based on extensive experience for the automotive aftermarket for over two decades. Product lines range from OEM replacement components, to the most demanding racetrack-ready applications.
Having previously worked with Racing Brake engineers on Viper product development and testing and receiving excellent results, we look forward to our joint development projects in 2016. Brakes are one of the most critical components in long range endurance racing, and one of the areas where balance between reliability, performance, and ease of service (or repairs) can become a key component in the race strategy.

As our first event of the year, Momentary Racing, supported by Racing Brake, is entering the “6 Hours on The Ridge” endurance race sanctioned by the International Drivers Club. The race will take place on April 17, at the Ridge Motorsports Park (Shelton, WA), as our first event with the new car.

Keith Novak will join Igor Levine in co-driving the #11 Dodge Viper ACR.

Follow us on Facebook, or look for updates from our team here, on road racing forums.

We are looking forward to 2016 season!

Great looking car. I think it will be fun to watch it this season. I plan to come to The Ridge on the 17th and see the car run. I have seen Igor drive a Viper at the Ridge and he is awesome!

RacingBrake is proud to be a sponsor of Momentary Racing.

We have been working with Igor in testing our brakes on his Viper, and I was very impressed with his intelligence and knowledge from the feedback and suggestion for improvement.

Wishing Momentary Racing lots of luck and success.

Thank you, all - we will be sure to keep everyone here updated. It goes without saying, that we will be happy to host any VOA guests at our events - just let us know in advance. First track test of the car is this Saturday at Pacific Raceways - we have been working late nights to get everything ready for basic fuel consumption and setup/aero tuning, and we are looking forward to getting the car dialed in.

Track photographer is still processing the pictures from yesterday. For now, here's a picture from the paddock, and a short video.

We had a great day - worked out some of the bugs in the new build, and started on suspension tuning. As the traffic thinned out later in the day, both drivers were able to put in some 'hot" laps. Unfortunately, this loosened the tip on the stock muffler, and it started transferring enough heat into side panel to burn/boil off the paint - you should be able to see the smoke at the end of the video. If you ever smelled burning car paint, it is not pleasant!

In any case, track rescue crew helped us to check out the car after we brought it in, and aside from loose tubing, there does not appear to be any other damage.

Our next steps are adding more instrumentation and data logging capabilities, and making the car faster. It would be nice to lose some weight too. For now, we are running an assortment of OEM wheels - and they are heavy, especially rear 19" ones. Hopefully we can work some racing wheels into the budget sooner rather than later. It'd be a lot easier on the crew too, otherwise we may need to recruit from bodybuilder community to swap those wheels in a hurry!

Can you get a set of wheels off of the agen IV ACR? Aren't those about as light as you could ask for without having to dig really, really deep in the budget? The sidewinders, I believe they are called. They are pretty light aren't they?

Good luck dialing some stuff in. I'm glad you escaped with just a little burned paint and not a full fire.

    Looking forward to updates.
