Junkman, what do you think of paste wax?

Junkman,
I currently use Griot's products and get results I a pleased with. I normally use their Best of Show creme wax, but I see they also have a paste carnauba wax. I was thinking of getting some and trying it for NVE II.
I would appreciate your thoughts on paste carnauba wax vs other types. I do have a PC 7424 that I could use with the paste wax.

I use paste waxes by Collinite. I like both their Super Double-Coat Carnuba Paste Wax and their Marque D’Elegance Carnauba Paste Wax. The latter cost more but last much longer than any other carnuba paste waxes that I've used. The sealants that I use are made by Hi-Temp, particularly their polymer sealant Terminator HT-62. Griot's doesn't manufacture their products so I would never use them.

Not according to Griots which says it "develops, manufactures and bottle " their products in house.

I bought their Carnuba paste wax last summer and used it on both my cars. I love the results. The ease of taking the wax off is amazing compared to the BOS wax. I noticed they not have a BOS paste wax and am considering getting that as well BUT i've still got a lot of the carnuba paste left.

A mixture of 50% Isopropyl Alcohol and 50% water will remove the wax and not damage your paint

First off, if you are having issues removing a paste wax, it's because you don't know how to use it. A carnuba paste wax is NEVER, I repeat NEVER applied to your paint and allowed to dry. If that is what you are doing, that is why you are having so many issues getting that stuff off your car. If you apply that stuff to an area the size of a Viper hood BEFORE you wipe it off, you are doing it WRONG. I have NEVER had any issues removing a paste wax because I know how to use that stuff. I READ the directions!

So they say, but then a lot of places claim that same thing and I know for a fact that some of these "companies" have their chemicals mixed for them by another chemical manufacturing company.

If I am trying to strip off the wax, like in prep to clay bar, I wash the car in Dawn dish detergent. It seems to do a great job removing the wax, because when down there is no more beading.

Juckman, I think you misread Bugman Jeff's comment. He was asking about removing paste wax in preparation for repainting his car. It had nothing to do with applying it wrong. It's pretty hard to mess up wipe on and wipe off.

I wasn't addressing his post, I was addressing those who say that a paste wax is hard to remove. If you leave that stuff on too long (during the application), you will need a chisel to get it off. This is a common issue that I hear about often. People tend to think that a carnuba paste wax is supposed to be applied like a sealant or butter type wax. That is SOOOO incorrect.

I understand, it's the excitement of seeing all their blood sweat and tears come to fruition in the form of a shiny Viper. I understand that completely. What I don't understand is that people think that's gonna happen without any effort or understanding the process. This is why I ALWAYS read directions. There's nothing like getting all frustrated first and then picking up the instructions, only to find out that you were doing it wrong the whole time. After ONE experience like that, one would think that we would read the directions first from then on!
