Congrats and make sure you get XPel Ultimate when you do get it installed.
got it. thanks JD
I've been wanting to do it as well as I track my '13. But the price I'm getting is $1800 for just the front/headlights. What prices are you guys getting? At $1800 I'm tempted to just let the rocks do as they wish.....
Sun-tek is great but expensive. I had the whole clamshell done, rockers, mirrors and splash areas behind front and rear wheels....3K
My whole car is done with suntek, 5k.
I paid $1,400 for front bumper, 1/4 hood, entire rocker panels, behind rear tires, and side mirrors. They also did the 1" area of every wheel well.
wow, not cheap, but if u spending$100k on a car, not a bad investment
I did front bumper, full hood, headlights, mirrors, and behind the back wheels for 2800 CAD so like 200 USD But it's nice peace of mind
IMO behind the FRONT wheels gets beat up just as much as behind the rears. I did my '13 at 700 miles and was shocked how sand blasted behind the fronts already was. The '14 got it done before I left Roanoke with it.
Mine is 90% done with XPel (all accept the rear 2/3rds of the roof and top-tail). I prefer the Suntek though, as it is easier
to lay-down vs the Xpel solution needed. Unless you have a darn-near flawless installer, the XPel really does not like
to be lifted and shifted under installation.
(BTW. The material is the same, it is the glue used under that is the difference in the brands...the actual material comes from
the same supply source before final creation). The only reason I went with XPel is because my installer now has a contract with them and could
not get SunTek with another installer too close. )
I have the XPel Ultimate as well. front bumper, full hood, rockers, mirrors & behind the rear tires. 2k. Can't even tell, until.. I've noticed with polarized sun glasses on, you see a rainbow sheen? I've had a couple comments at cars/coffee. I really don't care as I have zero rock chips in 2 years. I don't know if it is because of the silver metallic paint?
What part of Louisiana? I just moved from Shreveport/Bossier about 6 months ago and have a good contact. If you are near the area, I had a 370Z before the Viper, and they had done it on my 370Z, and did a pretty good job.

I just got a quote for $4500 on XPel for full car with 5% car club discount. I think I will be doing the whole car.
I dont know, for 5k I think I'd rather enjoy a perfectly paint corrected car, do proper washes and in 7 years repaint the entire car for an extra few grand. I looked at the protection and while it's really good, it doesn't do a mirror finish zero orange peel perfect prefix paint job enough credit. However I really really value aesthetic appeal in paint. I like paint and cleaning paint. So for those reasons I would choose to enjoy the car and deal with chipping as I can always repaint to the same color if needed. It's definitely a subjective matter but not as black and white of a decision as people think. I thought I would do sun tek after my paint is corrected but after looking at a few lambos in the shop that had it done, I decided that id rather repaint if needed and enjoy the car with only cquartz UK added to it.
If you don't track your car it's hard to justify. The cars get sandblasted in a matter of a few track days, the clear bra is worth it's weight in gold IMO. I paid around 5k for my whole car as well. Clear bra has saved my ass so many times I can't even keep count. Even the casual rub against it or the dealership/service department accidentally scratching a panel with a tool, the clear bra is there to save you from the headache of matching panels with an aftermarket paint finish.

Good point, I don't track the car. I suppose I was speaking from that angle. Now since I am considering getting into it, which parts of the car are most important? First third of the hood, rockers, wheel wells and maybe door handles (fingers constantly opening and closing)?
How hard would it be for someone to design some stone/splash guards like the ones on my ZR1?
The rockers, the rockers, and the rockers, and behind the rear tires too. Front bumper and half hood, unless you have stripes then you could probably make full hood not look so bad.
I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong..... Didn't wanna wrap the rockers due to yellowing, peeling etc. Shoulda. Bottom of mine are pretty knackered with the Corsas and tracking. Oh well. They're of no concern now!
But I still think wrapping the whole hood, roof, rear fender tops etc, is like Grandmas plastic wrapped couch, remaining in perfect condition till it's tossed in the dump cause it's old and out of style.![]()
I'm doing my new ACR-E this Tuesday. I taped the crap out of it with blue painters tape so I could put a few break in miles on it yesterday.
Front bumper, rockers and behind all wheels. Not doing the hood. Not a track car and I'm a minimalist but feel it's a must have on those spots.
