    Billet motor mounts- My review

I've put around 1,000 miles on my car with the Calvo motor mounts. They are obviously more stiff and secure than the originals and you can feel it. I personally like the added throttle response for my style of driving. Selling point for me was the fact that I can look at them and see they're in one piece. The original mounts can be blown out and I wouldn't even know. Small price to pay for some peace of mind that my motor mounts are 100% secure. Just my $.02

They do look Purdy! Your car is back in the city?

Do you feel a lot more drivetrain vibration while idling at a red light?

I don't think its a lot more vibration but yes you can feel a difference. My car had a new tune loaded at the same time so that could affect my opinion.

There is an ever so slight vibration at idle in the steering wheel but completely gone by 1200 rpm.

How about for us street guys. Keep the stock mounts & come up with a torque strap to limit engine movement above 1,200 rpm. thanks

The mounts work great on the street. We put them on a bunch of street cars, some daily driven with no complaints.

Big test is rear view mirror shake/buzz. New solid mounts in my Gen 3 really settled down after 750 miles (that or I got used to it.) Loved how connected you felt to the shifter, trans, and engine.

A torque strap could minimize the side loads on the OEM mounts but it would not reduce the total amount of stress on the mounts.
Instead of axially , the load would just be transferred vertically.
Either way the stock mounts (much like the stock clutch) are marginal in a stock hp car. Any mods to increase hp should include upgrading the mounts and the clutch too.

I installed my Calvo mounts a few weeks ago and was surprised by the added drivability. The stage 2 heads/cam kit has poor drivability under 2000rpms (A small quirk for added awesome). I can now cruise in 6th at 60mph, not that I was worried about fuel economy. I would say that any firmer mounts are a must with bigger than stock cams.
