Passenger door won't open unless you use the emergency latch

It worked fine until today, then started acting funny. When you click unlock the horn beeps twice, is this normal? Drivers door works fine but passenger can only be opened using the emergency latch on the rear area of the door.

Is there anything easy to look for? Is this common on Gen2's?

Doesn't open from the inside, I assume? Check the wiring in the door jamb...and inside the rubber boot. The wires can break from the door opening and closing. I also seem to recall something years ago about the harnesses being a tad short....

I've had my 2000 GTS since new, and had to correct a wire or two in the driver's door jamb. Seems to me that one speaker went out first. It's just a matter of finding the wire that's broken and patching in a new piece. (If needed, I can look at my manuals in the AM for wire colors....)

This would be my guess. It's a not uncommon problem for the wires to break around the body-door joint.
