GEORGIA VIPER CLUB 2016 EVENTS

Dear Georgia Viper Club Members,

Your Georgia Viper Club Events Committee, consisting of Dion Bentley, Wayne Carrel, Larry Gilmore, Ron Kent, Pete Kole, Steve Laube, Dale Stauffer and me, has scheduled the below listed great 2016 Viper Events for you. In addition, there will be other impromptu events from time to time and several other clubs have requested that we join them at times. Watch you email for Event Invitations. We are also working on adding some charity events. Each event will have an Event Manager, so you will have a point-of-contact for specifics. We welcome all VOA Members.

February 20 (Saturday) KICK OFF DINNER 7:00 p.m. Durango’s Wood Fire Grill, 9700 Medlock Bridge Rd., Duluth, GA 30097. Event Manager: Wayne Carrel (678-898-9782, wcarrel@bellsouth.net).

March 12 (Saturday) ATLANTA INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW 11:00 a.m. Meet for lunch at Dantanna’s Restaurant, One CNN Center, Suite 269, Atlanta, GA 30303. Then proceed to Atlanta International Auto Show at the World Congress Center, 285 Andrew Young International Boulevard, Atlanta, GA 30313.

March 19 or 26 (Saturday) (Date to be determined) CALLAWAY GARDENS 8:00 a.m. Meet at Hooters Restaurant, 3550 Gwinnett Place Drive, Duluth, GA 30096. Then proceed to Callaway Gardens, 17800 U.S. Highway 27, Pine Mountain, GA 31822.

April 9 (Saturday) NARRA/ROAD ATLANTA 9:00 a.m. Meet at the Media Center, Road Atlanta, 5300 Winder Highway, Braselton, GA 30517

April 16 (Saturday) GEORGIA COOL CRUISERS SHOW 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. St. David’s Episcopal Church, 1015 Old Roswell Road, Roswell, GA 30076.

April 17 (Sunday) CAFFEINE AND EXOTICS 7:00 a.m., if you’re showing your car, and you need to preregister a week before (www.caffeineandexotics.com). The show is from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and is held at Lenox Shopping Center, 3393 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA 30326.

May 11 to 15 (Wednesday to Sunday) NATIONAL VIPER EVENT (NVE) 2 This year’s NVE is in New Orleans (details at www.driveviper.com). If you want to caravan, contact Larry Gilmore (404-680-6029, larry@controlledblasting.com).

May 14 (Saturday) WANNAGOFAST/GEORGIA 1/2 MILE SHOOTOUT 7:00 a.m. Meet at Hooters Restaurant, 3550 Gwinnett Place Drive, Duluth, GA 30096. Then proceed to the WannaGoFast/Georgia 1/2 Mile Shootout at Heaven’s Landing Airport, 1271 Little Creek Road, Clayton, GA 30525. Most of us are going as Spectators. You might embarrass yourself if you want to run this with less than 1200 H.P.

May 15 (Sunday) CAFFEIN AND EXOTICS 7:00 a.m., if you’re showing your car, and you need to preregister a week before (www.caffeineandexotics.com). The show is from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and is held at Lenox Shopping Center, 3393 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA 30326.

May 28 (Saturday) MEMORIAL DAY PARTY This event will be at Lake Lanier. Time and directions to be sent by email.

June 2 to 5 (Thursday to Sunday) TAIL OF THE DRAGON This event is at Gatlinburg, TN and is sponsored by the Alabama/Tennessee Viper Club, so check the VOA website (www.driveviper.com) for details. A caravan for the Georgia Viper Club is being considered.

July 9 to 10 (Saturday to Sunday) SAVANNAH, GA 8:00 a.m. Meet at Hooters Restaurant, 3550 Gwinnett Place Drive, Duluth, GA 30096. Then proceed to Savannah, GA. Details forthcoming.

July 23 (Saturday) MICROCAR MUSEUM 8:00 a.m. Meet at Hooters Restaurant, 3550 Gwinnett Place Drive, Duluth, GA 30096. Then proceed to Microcar Museum, 2950 Eatonton Road, Madison, GA 30650.

August (Date to be determined) ANNUAL VIPER CLUB BAR B Q Possibly to be at Todd Sicklers’ mountain farm in Dayton Mountain, TN. Details forthcoming.

Late September or Early October (Date to be determined) GEORGIA COOL CRUISERS SHOW This event will be at Coolray Field, 2500 Buford Drive, Lawrenceville, GA 30043. Details forthcoming.

September 28 to October 1 (Wednesday to Saturday) Petit Le Mans/Road Atlanta Details forthcoming.

October 29 (Saturday) (Tentative date) Corvettes against Brest Cancer This event will be at Atlanta Motor Speedway, 1500 Tara Place, Hampton, GA 30228 and is sponsored by Pacesetters Corvette Club. A possible caravan is being considered from Spaghetti Junction to Atlanta Motor Speedway for “laps on the track.” Details forthcoming.

October (Date to be determined) FALL MOUNTAIN RUN 8:00 a.m. Meet at Hooters Restaurant, 3550 Gwinnett Place Drive, Duluth, GA 30096. Then proceed to Elizabeth and Dale Stauffer’s home, 4613 Blakeford Court, Flowery Branch, GA 30542 for brunch and then proceed to Helen. Event Manager: Dale Stauffer (770-654-9821; dale@pgcga.com).
