Somewhat of an old thread, but how did this ever work out over time? Looks great, but we know that likely does not translate to handles great.

Has anyone else gone the 20/21 route, and how is that working for you?

LOL. Darius is a pro driver and he put these on for his street setup. What kind of "handling" are you looking for?

I definitely see this as a "street only" setup, so I'm not asking which handles better for which purpose.

But, assuming one were to drive an ACR 80/20 street vs. track (which is probably the ratio of most owners, if even that much track use), is the 20/21 bearable enough to keep it on the car for what is the majority of the time?

My experience is that very low profile tires give up quite a bit in the traction department, especially when cornering. The lack of compliance in sidewall flex (i.e. less "suspension") is usually the culprit.

But, we all know that street driving is not always just putting around. There are times that you'll get on it with friends or otherwise, taking on ramps, going around flat turns and long sweepers at speed, etc.

In those scenarios, if the car is going to handle like total arse, then I'll take a pass. But, if it can work and still hang with the crowd without leaving a darkie in my shorts each time, then it might be worthwhile. In other words, I'm not entirely sure that I need Kumho's all the time on the street.

But I also don't want to put on a setup that feels like I'm skating around on marbles either. If I can get 70% of the handling or more, than I'd probably go for it. Anything less than that, and I'd likely keep the 19's and Kumho's on all the time.

I know Darius and have met him during my days racing bikes around the country (WERA/CCS). I see that he has transitioned into the cars quite nicely Like him I'm sure, the cars never feel quite a fast as the bikes around the track. But, it is still fun diving into turns on the brakes and drifting out of the exits. Can't do that on the street of course, so may not need the Kumho setup.

The 20,21 setup is great for the street. The stock Kumho's are very sticky and pick up every rock on the road which is hard on the paint. The car still handles ok, about as much as you can expect from regular street tire.

Its a barley used set i happened to find. I did the ceramic blue lip myself.

    I stretched a 325 on a 13 inch wide wheel. I need the grip for heads/cam.

Nice looking wheels Ben, but then again I'm biased....Do you have a good shot from the rear of the stretched 325?

I don't think it looks bad, not even sure I would have noticed it if you hadn't said anything. I have 20x13 rear and they make that same tire in a twenty maybe I should consider them.

Is there any downside to stretching the tire to fit the 13" wheel width, and are the Toyo's that much better than say the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's?
Also ben what size front tire are you running?
