Red face NEW Owner 2000 GTS

    PC070061.jpg

New owner in MS. Purchased from John Gastman at Roanoke Motors.
Class guy, treated me right and car is near spotless with 14k miles.
Fits great in the garage next to my 98 Cobra (supercharged, Methanol injected 450rwhp) but don't know how long I will be able to hold on to both spots as the wife is hinting about how cold it is with her car on the driveway! I am making sure to wake up early, starting here car and defrosting

No room to the side or back, just short on height (approx 112" at lowest point) but a cantilevered type lift might just fit. Looking into it but for right now just making sure to keep her car detailed and ready to go in the mornings. Letting her drive the Viper a little helps too!

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Already put 400 miles on the car, can't stop driving the darn thing... waaay different driving experience than the Cobra.
Reading old reviews the Viper is portrayed as loud, primitive, few creature comforts, rough around the edges but rewarding car in the right hands.... well they apparently never drove a heavily modified (engine and suspension) 98 Cobra! The Viper seems civilized in comparison during "normal" 5/10 spirited driving. Having built / driven the Cobra over the past 7 years I feel 90% (anyone says their 100% is kidding themselves) comfortable with it in any driving situation. The Viper will take a while to get used to. So far I have not come anywhere near the cornering limits and don't intend to anytime soon. Waited a lot of years to get one and not going to mess it up. Straight line acceleration is another story! It is not the fastest car I have ever driven but it just seems effortless in comparison to anything else. After I have driven it long enough to be fairly comfortable I may write a quick comparison between the two if anyone is interested. BTW, I didn't think of the remote start... would be a good surprise to spring on the wife when it gets cold here! (35 deg or so)

    Great looking pair of snakes.

I also came from a supercharged Cobra to a Viper. You are right, it is a totally different car. Take a good track day or autocross and you will totally know the difference!!!! I didn't think it would open my eyes as much as it did.

    Have fun and enjoy.

I got my 2000 GTS from John as well; awesome bunch of guys there. Its nice to live only 15 minutes down the road from them. I never cared for that color until I saw it in person and then I definitely had a change of heart - very nice!
