2017/18 Realistic Viper Buying Wish List??

For me, to buy the supposedly last of the Vipers as we've know them, the car would have to be a convertible!

A retractable hard top would be a bonus, along with side view mirror cameras and a trunk release...not too much to ask for.

    Merry Christmas all.

I'd like it if they improved the look of the grille and the hood louvers. These pieces look like sh!t on +$100K car. A convertible would be nice too.

    Happy Holidays!

Just make the Super Charger available for the last year and call it good.

At this point, just committing to making the last year Viper of this Generation (G5) in 2017 would be nice. Hell, maybe the 25th Anniversary model (if there is one) will be all the exact same spec car (no options) but with an RT open top and limited to exactly as many 1992s as were made back then? Would seem fitting.

Now a G6 for 2018 and beyond, well we will have to see! Lots of things I would like to see on a newer Gen, but the main thing is no futuristic Star Wars/Transformer C7 look to it please.

when should we hear about model year 17 changes (if any)

Considering buying last year made. I vote 25th anniversary ACR with taega top retro to a Gen I. Would be epic.

Well, sticking with your title and the word realistic, just having it made, perhaps a badging for the anniversary, maybe new color offering for the interior/exterior, I'd love to see a new color option in the TA family. I can't imagine they'd offer anything else in the last year of this gen. I'm a firm believer that there will be a gen6, that it'll be a 2020 and not a NA V10 and be quite a bit different, that's where the wish list can be, but on the last year of this gen, I think it's beyond hoping for anything new, especially something as dramatic as any top that moves or comes off. When the gen4 ended and it could've been forever, what dramatic things were offered that year ... beyond paint & badges. Meh.

An option for a neutral color ACR badge and perhaps coordinating calipers. I like red but it doesn't necessarily work well with some color combinations.

If it is really the last year, some confirmation of that and a schedule with cutoff dates.

Some have mentioned the GTC ACRs not having an ACR VIN, not a big deal to me but could be changed easily I would think.

I have read the rumors as well that 17/18 would be the last of the Viper but I can't help but wonder just how true those rumors really are? With the ACR's selling like crazy and all the good press the Viper recently has received seems like a bad time to pull the plug.

There will be no massive changes for 2017.

Unless it is a completely new design .

I would really like a good heads up of when things will end/change/whatever. So I can prepare to sell some of my body parts to add one to the stable.. LOL.
I already know what I want. I just need to work harder to get in the position to get it.

On that note, I've always wanted cooled seats and colored calipers. That would be sweet.

FCA and Ferrari split officially by January 15th, 2016. I know, I know Ferrari never put handcuffs on the Viper but I call BS. They are just euro-snobbish enough to mandate such a silly restriction. Guess we will see!

Get rid of the engine plastic covers and the cheap looking Dodge switches in the cabin - please

Since Dodge hasn't said that these will be the last Vipers then I don't think we should expect anything more than minor tweaks typical of continuing refinement. I've been dwelling on the question though and surprisingly can't come up with a single change that they might reasonably consider for this gen, however, there are a few changes I'd look for in a next generation to encourage me to buy. So I guess for me the current T/A is perfect, and a next gen T/A would need active suspension, active aero, front lift, larger steel brakes, E-diff and probably an auto/DCT option to get me to buy another.

With the 1-of-1 option, I'd like to see custom painted calipers. Since I live in FL, cooled seats would be a huge plus. I agree with some others that a camera/parking sensors in the front would be great...I'm so paranoid anytime I pull forward in a spot that I usually end up 2ft away from the curb. Get rid of the cloth seats and have leather as a standard with the optional upgraded leather or suede.

Reintroduction of Fog lights, perhaps more carbon fiber body panels. Front bumper sensors. ACR model optional with a DCT.

A slight refresh so current Gen V owners sell their cars to get the next latest and greatest!

I love the cloth seats def would not trade them for leather that looks like wrinkled crap in a year or two.
    Alcantara is even better.

I might be crazy but I think it may go away for a year or two and come back as a traditional mid-engine car {instead of front mid-ship as it is now} with a smaller engine and turbos. If so I'm hoping at least a V8 and NOT a V6 a la FGT. I would not mind a smaller displacement V10 with FI slapped on it either. They did mess around with a true mid-engine Viper back in the day so who knows?

I'd love to see a new Viper with carbon monocoque shell a la McLaren etc. And before you say its too much money look at the Alfa 4C so it can be done but it would take a huge paradigm shift in direction of the Viper ethos.

Lot of pipedream talk I know, especially considering the Vipers budget but it would be nice to see what it would be with a comparable budget like that of Z06 or Porsche GT3. Cant help but wonder out loud about that. Whatever they do just let the snake live on.

Ehh... I guess simple things make me happy...

    - some sort of a front lift system to get over the speed bumps Prius owners lobbied for
    - heated/ventilated seats
    - move the damn hood release inside the car
    - update the taillights like the way they did with the charger and challenger (not to run across from one side to another but the type of light element they use)
    - more NA power out of the box to offset all the above garbage I listed

I would like to see them do something to improve the gap between the hood and the front fascia. For me it's too noticeable and I would love to see a more seemless look. On the maybe not so realistic side I would like to see them keep it in production beyond 2018 and help develop their dealerships so they're capable of servicing the car.

I hate the cloth seats and I would have to agree with leather standard. I'm not crazy about Alcantara but its better then basic cloth. I have a 30 year old car with original leather seats that still look like new. Nothing holds up and continues to look good like leather.
