Update since receiving new engine @ Woodhouse

    Hello everyone,

I've been so busy I haven't been able to jump on here much but I figured since I was one of the guys who had a rod bearing failure/Loss of oil issue I would post a quick update. I was able to get 600 miles on it here before winter hits and everything has been fantastic. Mark @ Woodhouse was the absolute best to work with and the shop did an amazing job putting the new engine in. I just did the first oil change and I wasn't able to detect any major metal in the oil or inside the filter once I cut it apart. I've been religiously checking the oil level and it hasn't used a drop since the day I got it.

All in all, I couldn't be happier. Except maybe if I had just done the Head/Cam upgrade while at Woodhouse haha.

    Thanks
    Alex

Alex, this is great to hear. I hope to meet you at some events this coming season, especially Cool Cars for Cats and Canines at the Hershey Museum in April, and at Carlisle in July.

I have to say, I've been pretty satisfied with my local Viper tech Jeff P, since I started using him about a year ago. However, I believe that if something catastrophic were to happen (and let's hope it doesn't, knock wood!) I believe I'd also ship the car out to Mark. The best, period.

    Thanks for the update!

I got my car back too. It was done by a local dealer. Their was some confusion with programing the PCM that brought some frustration......but now that the dust has settled all is good. 500 miles and no issues.

I understand wanting woodhouse/Roanoke/VE to do an engine swap, but if you don't live near them and have an issue with a blown engine in the future, don't feel like you HAVE to use them (only because of shipping costs). These engines come in one piece and all the dealer has to do is mount it and plug it in. If it were a rebuild I wouldn't mess with a local dealer, but a new engine should be ok with a standard Gen V tech.

I also got a comp'd extended warranty from Chrysler because of the issue, 7 years 100K transferable warranty. They had no problem putting their money where their mouth is. You have to ask for it...they won't offer it. They also paid all towing charges. I recommend keeping your head cool and being nice. It worked out really well for me.

I wonder if our cars passed in transit, I was #2 for the HC at Woodhouse. I know it was for different reasons, but, there is basically one route and we are neighbors.

Absolutely, I only live 20 mins from Hershey. I also want to check out cars and coffee in West Chester which isn't far and I don't have anything like that near me.
