    Build status

I'm trying to guesstimate when my Viper will be ready for pickup. I went to Trim status on Dec 7. How good are they at hitting their finish date? I would much prefer to fly but I'm not going to pony up for a last minute ticket.

2-3 weeks based on my experience.

    Thanks.

That makes it rather dicey considering the time of year. Great Christmas present but schedule is rather full.

mine is at final inspection, however, I'm told Dodge is not prompt about shipping vehicles until they have a load worth

Depends on the dealer and when Dodge has a truck going past

Lots of variables , but keep in mind the Plant closes down for two weeks at Christmas ---- all the FCA US and Canadian Plants do. The other concern is that many Dealers seem to think it is necessary to tell their customers they can get them a car in 2-3 months. Ironic when an internal memo is out there recommending buyers are told 4 months minimum on the hand built Viper. Have been doing this since the 90s and it has usually taken 4-6 months to get a Viper , over the years, and sure there are always some exceptions, but considering the build time ( and that can change with some of the unique options many are doing with the one of one program ) and shipping , good rule of thumb. We have always been blessed with rapid shipping as we are just off the busiest Interstate in the US ( I-80 ), but keep in mind some places could be way off the grid for normal truck traffic - that can slow things down , logically. Right now the biggest issue is the Plant shutting down quite soon for the Holidays.

Bills Right, Lots of Variables. My Factory Order 2008 took 15 Months from order date to arrival at dealership.

I would hope it's faster now that robots build them. Mine took 11 months and the build quality, paint, etc are Union good.....

That's the thing, these are hand-built, not robots.

Ya, I think they only added robots at the end of the line, to check panel gaps before sending them away.

Cars are quite different now, and with the one of one program it has never been more true, so finish time is not the same for each Snake. Final Inspection is the longest stage , and it is not unusual , at times , for a vehicle to be in that area for a month. Then it goes to J ( storage ) before shipping ( KZ ). The Plant will be shutting down after next week for the Holidays, so that slows things also. To say Reliable/Dodge is not prompt in shipping is quite incorrect, as one has to take a step back and figure out the logistics. If we have 10 cars going to the East Coast and 1 going to the West, simple logic lets you know that it will be delayed going West. Orders incoming do not have a set demand , so that each quadrant of the Country gets a bunch of cars ordered at the same time, when in fact it can be quite random. Having dealt with Reliable since the 90s, and on wonderful terms with them, I can flatly state that the owner goes above and beyond to figure ways to get cars to folks as quickly as possible. Just throwing out some ideas as those of us with Vipers all have gone through the waiting phase and we are excited - always said it was the close a guy could come to understanding the anticipation of giving birth,ha. Hang in there , but to use Woodhouse as an example we have a Viper that should be here at the end of the week. It was ordered at the same time as 3 others. Those three are all delivered , yet we are just getting this one in ---difference is he has custom paint. The wait will definitely be worth it though......

I am picking mine up from the plant and doing the tour so the shipping issues should not apply. I was originally told Dec 15 but from what I am hearing here that sounds like a long shot
