My guess would be it is making somewhere in the low-mid 900s. My car went 148mph with ~880whp. No chance is it making 1150-1200 and trapping 150mph.
What do you drive? Raceweight? Transmission? Density Altitude of the track day?
A lot of variables. 148 mph with only 880 rwhp is a well sorted car, for sure. The white/blue Paxton Gen 3 coupe that ran yesterday (880-900 rwhp) trapped 143 best. Similar weight, exact same tire Calvo ran, too.
Nope I never owned a 1200whp viper, however Iv owned several other fast cars and as others have said it should trap more than 150 if In fact it makes that kind of power..not raging on anyone or trying to be in a pissing match with you the all mighty viper expert...don't get butt hurt... Congrats again Calvo! And if it's making 1000whp that would make
More sense to me
My car is a '99 Viper, 100% stock engine, GEN4 TR6060 trans, and the run was in +6000DA on a 26" R888 tire & 3.07 rear. I weighed my car right after the pass (at the track) and it tipped the scales at 3650lbs with me. I would say it is well sorted, but it does not have a particularly well engineered turbo system (standard footwell setup) -- nothing special in the hard parts combination except that it is tuned properly and has a good air/air IC (Nth Moto AEM Infinity Package + FMIC).
Another data point: when my car made ~815whp peak (with cool down), it went ~142 very consistently (over 15 passes in that MPH range). I ran the car at the track, and the next day put it on the dyno (a different one) and made high 700s with no cool down to simulate how it goes down the track.

Sorry, I went back and looked at my old runs and data. You are correct, I was at 1050 rwhp when I was trapping 150-152. It trapped 155 at 1150 rwhp, no other changes but a nitrous pill swap. My Gen 3 is a tank though, has a steel rollbar, water tank, nitrous bottle, Paxton kit. About 3840 lbs raceweight.
But the turbo car is making full boost way earlier than your car.
Boost certainly comes on sooner with turbos. But, don't forget I have nitrous to fill that void. I spray in 2nd+ at the track.

Very nice combo! +6000 DA, damn! That is when I go road course tracking instead.
Given dyno variances and your race weight of ~3840lbs, 1050whp peak on a Paxton to go ~150mph sounds quite reasonable.Originally Posted by Nine Ball

In any case, I don't want to derail this thread -- I'm excited to see other people push the limits of the GEN5 platform so I can learn from them when it comes time for me to build one.
Calvo, any plans to push the stock engine farther, or is it built motor and big boost time?
Congrats to the Calvo crew! Any chance you are working on an 8sp auto setup?
Hope to see this stock bottom end in the high 8's. Should hold the power(for a few passes anyway) from what I've been told.
Congrats!!! Nice run!!!
All this and no paddle shifters? How can this be?????????????????????????????![]()
